I am babying my clutch these days ........ and I think the 06 gear box is a hell of an advantage...... I would not be surprised that on a roll on at say 20-30 that Icarus may be faster......or at least tough.... Dane has been in my car enough to have a feel

What I really like about my car right now is that it does feel like a straight 6 cyl up front.... more ballsy than my GFs 330 for sure.....

Dane will publish the much anticipated numbers from a "stock car" which is what a lot of you are waiting for......

I am just excited that the project is becoming "public" again..... we should start to see more cars converted at a much quicker pace.... maybe 3-4 in the next several weeks and then SpiderX will further loose his uniqueness (at least until the custom header )

Go Dave.......

Go Dane/Icarus......

Of course we'll compare them heads up! Although I do have a slight learning curve to adjust to the new power. You gotta be aware that mine is a cabrio so I am dealing with much more weight. You can even feel it just riding around in each one. It would be cool to find out how much more. I will also dyno next week at my regular place so I can continue producing deltas for each mod. I can't wait to find out what this one will be!

Today is a serious wash job once it warms up past freezing. Poor Dave has construction going on next door so all that dirt just gets picked up and then dumped on his shop and all the cars around it. Lots of suds needed to gently lift the dirt off followed by a quick wax. Surface decontamination will have to be later. Gotta catch up on some serious mountain motoring today! Hmmmm...the Dragon is only a couple of hours away...

Update: Gotta hold off on the dyno run planned for tomorrow until next Thur. Real life happens you know. Besides next Thursdays weather is closer to the original runs conditions than tomorrow so the delta will be even closer to true. Don't worry, I'll post when I get it.

Took Icarus out for a mountain spin this last Sun and it was simply glorious! The car pulls like a straight six instead of a wound out four. Was able to hang with an 06 Carrera S, a 928S, a Pantera (in beautiful shape and beefed up). The straight aways they could pull on me but not overly so. In the curves hanging with them was not a problem. I probably could've pulled away from the 928S and the Pantera in the curves as they are *** heavy but my brakes are still stock so I didn't want to over heat them. Safety before stupidity you know.

I'm not sure about the Pantera, but I'm pretty sure the 928 was right 50/50 weight distribution, actually I think it was 51/49. Does that count as *** heavy?

Maybe so but the back was getting squirrely on him at times not that it really matters. It was plain fun running with those guys!

I don't rightly know but I know Peter will make an announcement no one could possibly miss when it is ready. In the meantime you can contact him to get added to the waiting list.

Wow! That third one got on the road quick! I hope that estimate is accurate. Dave must've really worked out a ton of kinks with Icarus. I guess that's one thing to feel kind of good about is that we're paying dearly to pave the way for when others get their kits they'll be up and running in no time!

Glad to hear you'll be up and running soon. I look forward to seeing a third M62 out there and knowing that there will be a ton of them here in the next several months. What a great group of Minis that'll be! I look forward to all the different setups and other ideers they come up with.
