How many s/c reduction pulleys have colder plugs?
Of all the members that have s/c reduction pulleys on your engine, how many have added colder plugs? For those that made the switch, what pulley (15%, 16%, 17% or 19%) did you put on and what plugs did you switch to? Did you do any other ignition mods (coil pack and/or wires) as well? If so, please post the details.
Thanks in advance to all who post.

Just like eJ, I had Randy Webb put in Denso IK22's when he changed my pulley to a 15%. I have no idea if they help or hinder, whatsoever. I did it soley based on his web site stating that when combined with a 15% pulley, he found that on the dyno, the Desno IK22's to add up to 2 extra HP.
Again, I cannot verify this claim, I'm just another horsepower junkie, like the rest of you.

To all NAMers that like to ask polling questions...
Maybe you want to start using those cool polling online links that let you see a chart of the answers. I did a google search and found one (of many) http://www.coolsurveys.com/ that might be fun to use for these types of questions. Just a thought. I am not plugging the link and haven't ever used it before, it was just the first one on the google search for free online survey tools.

I got a 15% pulley at around 5K mi, and immediately switched to the IK22s and put the stock plugs on the shelf. At the time, I couldn't detect any difference in how the car ran as a result of switching plugs, but it seemed like the fashionable thing to do.
After reading post after post about IK22s loosening up and sometimes blowing out, and periodically checking mine to find that sure enough, one or two cylinders were loose after 3-4 mons of driving, I put the stockers back in. This was after ~15K on the IK22s. Surprisingly, the car runs great and pulls harder with the stock plugs! Quite an improvement. Perhaps the IK22s were just worn out, but I don't think I'll ever use these again because I don't want to risk a plug blow-out. After a few weeks, the stockers are still tight

I seems as if most of you who went with the Denso plugs did it at the same time that the s/c reduction pulley went on. Did anyone not do the Denso plugs at the same time the s/c reduction pulley went on and then noticed some sort of drivability problem which was cured with the addition of the Denso plugs? inimmini's experience of the car improving its response seems counter-intuitive; but that is part of the reason for starting this thread - I am trying to see what the experience has been.
Thanks again for the replies.

I have the IK22s. My instaler uses them. The trick is to torque them the right amount when you instal them. The problem is that alot of them are undertorqued, or overtorqued which can lead to catastrophic failue (read: the plug blows right out of the head). I haven;t had a problem with the plugs loosening, but if you want to be on the safe side, retorque them every 6 months to a year.

We had seen some detonation on the dyno with the crap gas we have here.
After some discussions with some other NAM members about detonation in CA, I decided to try some colder plugs. I came on a good deal on the IK24s and thought it might help the car. The colder plugs definitely helped the detonation problem and the car seems to run smoother in the upper RPM range.
