Can't Remove Stock SC Pulley

My stock supercharger pulley seems to have siezed onto the shaft. I am using the puller from Webb Motorsports, along with a regular "crow's foot" pulley puller. The pulley is on the shaft so tight that I broke the puller tool. The metal "crow's foot" broke in half. Then I went and bought a Craftsman puller which hopefully will be stronger. It hasn't broken yet but the pulley still won't come off. It's been quite frustrating to say the least. Anyone have any tips? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Matt

Do you have a bolt in the charger shaft for the puller to rest against? If not, the center screw on your puller may be siezing on the shaft and causing the resistance. The pulley should come off easily after the inital "pop".

If worse comes to worse, use heat ( use it carefully ).

.... using a puller that has been designed especially to pullthe Mini SC Pulley makes the whole job easier, when using in conjunction with heat.

Thanks for the replies. I will try some heat, as well as putting a bolt in the center of the shaft. And yes, the clamp part of the puller (on loan from Webb) is made especially for this pulley.

Do not use heat, you may damage the bearings on the shaft!

If all else fails, while putting tension on the pulley, give the pulley a tap with a hammer from the back side to dis lodge it.

Make sure to grease the threads on the puller too. Makes a HUGE difference.

Not sure exactly why it worked, but I tried it again the same way but this time I screwed in a small bolt into the shaft. Didn't need to resort to anything extreme. Thanks for everyone's replies.

"who...does...number two...work for?" -austin powers.

Sometimes you have to grab hold of something and show that turd who's boss.
