Hmm...exactly what did they void? warranty shouldn't be voided due to a 15% pulley

Usually a warranty has been voided due to an unrelated engine issue (head gasket, warped head/block). Then as part of the fix the dealer will point to the mod that caused the failure. Usually its their easy way out of fixing stuff under warranty.

I have had my warranty voided due to a 15% reduction pulley (see my post https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=60344 )
Im in the UK and my dealer told me that they have been told by BMW to check the size of the pulley on Minis with engine problems and if an aftermarket pulley has been fitted that the engine warranty is void

Please lets avoid the whole JCW vs aftermarket here. Let's stick to the original posters question.

And to answer, that no I haven't had any trouble but haven't had a major engine issue. I understand my dealer (MINI North Scottsdale) is pretty cool dealing with reasonable modded cars though.

Ralph Schomp MINI here in Denver Colorado. I have taken my car in with the current mods I have listed on my signature.....no issues so far. However, I am taking it for a Flywheel Clutch whirrling noise on Friday. I will let you know what the outcome is. I cannot imagine any of my mods have any direct relationship to the clutch issue.

Further, Randy Webb has a good spot on his website regarding mods and warranties....its worth checking out.

if you do a search, you will find at least two threads where the answer is Yes.

Generally, yes. It depends on the dealer. Some get all uptight, while some let it slide. Mine is in between. I bought my Landrover from him when he worked at a different dealership.
