I cant follow what you're saying at all. Please let me know when the patent is available and I'll revisit.

Now I am confused. Where does the patent come into play here?

This has been a very interesting thread and if you can't figure it out from what has been said I was curious to how the patent number would help. Everything so far has been on topic except some vague references to a patent number. With what I have read so far I am fairly certain I want to give this a shot. I am absolutly certain I don't care what number is assigned to it .

Alta and M7 are both working on a flow through design.

The number matters to them. And anyone who would be looking into manufacturers claims of uniqueness of design.

Got Cha . Well as a consumer the numbers I care most about are the ones I've seen so far and the additional ones you will be providing in the near future. How near is that future anyway ?

Don't know...

My testing stuff is on the way back from Florida, and the availability of a test unit isn't up to me.

I'll post when I have something of value to add...... Along with updates on dirty diapers as they are available.

Sounds good. I am sure many are waiting as I am to pull that trigger.

When one files for a patent, one must also disclose the design in sufficient detail so that someone who is sufficiently well-versed in the subject area could build the exact same thing. This disclosure is the "cost" of the patent. You tell everyone how you did it and they can't reproduce it for 19 years. But they can improve on it and think about new ways to accomplish the same ends. Well, that's the theory anyway.

So, anyway, once you have the patent number you can look up the disclosure because it is published and available from the Patent and Trademark Office and find out about "the secret sauce".

So the patent disclosure would tell you how the DFIC works. That's why it is interesting.

Separately, Alta is interested because they have something that looks eerily similar to the M7 DFIC and if M7 manages to patent it, Alta may need to redesign theirs.

Hope that helps!

No more gross than some of the BS you have to wade through to get to the facts on any number of threads.
This was just more obvious. Well, the the BS this time was baby sh** instead of the regular bull sh**

The preliminary information is a bit light on information.
I think he only wants to see the results of more thorough testing.
Nothing wrong with that. I think a number of us want the same thing.

What drives me crazy is the M7 crew comes on the board hypes everything, stirs the pot and flaming ensues. It's sad that even Sid has stooped to doing this. He was one guy who used to remain neutral. I guess having a vested interest in something will do that to you.

It seems to me that if a number of you guys want to see the numbers, and there are proper means of testing already integrated into the piece....that one of you guys should just man up and buy one for testing (you could even all go in on it together if you want)

It's the job of the manufacturer to test it, not the public. Why people continue to do this is beyond me.

If the manufacturer tests it, 100 people on this forum will say the testing is biased and inaccurate. There is no way to win.

Dr. Matt is going to test it, hopefully sooner than later.

Jenn is right....they post and people just say its biased, or that the testing was incorrect (no matter what). Looking at your 30 posts....nearly all of them are negative whiny remarks doubting vendors. Even if they did post numbers, i would be willing to bet that you would spend even more time arguing that their numbers were faulty.....so why not be helpful to this community and test it yourself instead of posting the occasional whine?

I would love to see numbers too....but i understand that whining isn't the way to get what i want. Either you wait for them to post numbers (how ever long that takes), wait for Dr. Matt's numbers, or use the negative energy you have to do the exact testing that you want by doing it yourself.

Compared to threads in the past this one is, to me, remarkably flame free.

There are questions about the initial efficiency claims. To me that's just expected when something claims to do something that has never been done before. Exceed 100% thermal efficiency.
A healthy curiosity, in my case, isn't flaming. My impression of other posts here seem the same to me. You claim something revolutionary, prove it.
Which will be done I have no doubt.

If 100%+ efficiency proves true I can assure you I'll buy one, ugly scoop and all
Power is king

Sid is an awesome guy and a straight shooter. You know that. Maybe, then, you should reevaluate your biases... maybe M7 is actually a great company to deal with [they are great to me!].

For the record, M7 never claimed to achieve over 100% thermal efficiency. Preliminary numbers, keep in mind preliminary, showed the possibility but these were not posted as hard, controlled test numbers. While I did explain clearly the possibility of achieving such numbers, I did not anywhere say that the DFIC had performed as such. Full test sequences will be completed with both open road cars and dyno cars.

Until then, trust that Randy has run with the DFIC and says that it works.
