Drivetrain Waiting for Dinan 2006

You should give Dinan a call. I did that way back when regarding another car and they gave me any info they had directly - if I recall correctly I think I even spoke with one of the software engineers directly.
Couldn't hurt to call them, or even write, anyway. I'd also call other dealers in a reasonable range as well, you might find one who has more info and can also find better pricing (since diff shops have varying hourly rates and some also give parts discounts).

Well, people can educate themselves on the warranty issue and Dinan stuff as it has been hashed to death many times. I for one had a great experience having Dinan stuff on a BMW where the BMW/Dinan dealer actually did warranty work on the car when they, and others, would not with other aftermarket parts on (or did the work around the parts then reinstalled them incorrectly). I also took the car in to my local Dinan shop where I had the installs done to have software reloaded, things adjusted, squeaks addressed, etc and having that sort of service available was irreplacable for me.
As for the parts doing very little, I can say the suspension was top notch, the software a good improvement in responsiveness+, and the CAI did as good a job as any if not better (this was a BMW one tho, got cold air from low, not like the Mini ones). Quality of parts and service was
I can't speak for the Mini stuff but as far as I know Dinan still does good R&D and although all of their solutions may not be the most aggressive the long term durability is good.

If you truly like Dinan, that's cool. I have heard the suspensions parts are fair. As far as the software, exhaust and TB is concerned....I'm out to lunch on it. I too have a BMW (2002 325CI) and had a few things Dinan way back in the day but quickly got rid of them. Hopefully, his Mini department is different since he has/had such a bad rap in most of the BMW circles.
