New helix13 product: Braille Ltw battery box

The Braille lightweight battery was developed originally for military applications, but was soon adopted by the rally racing crowd. These drycell units have true deepcycle charge capability, meaning that they can be heavily discharged and recharged repeatedly without weakening over time. They weigh 11 pounds and produce 360 cold cranking amps, the same as the stock Cooper S battery. MINI owners have been installing them for the last year or so, but have always had to custom mount them in their car. Now helix has developed a custom Braille battery box specifically designed for the MINI Cooper S. It retails for $49 and is available immediately. Here's a shot of it:

Seems like an awful lot of metal to hold down a 11lb battery.

It weighs 16oz complete. We'll do an introductory $180 for the battery and the box special.

The Mini Sawzall! Just cut that roof off, and get a lighter car with lower center of gravity!

Someone call me?!

Actually.... I've been runnin' with a Braille since the Spring of '05. Matt turned me on to this battery... And to be honest, the 2.5 pound savings over the PC680 was a secondary, or even tertiary reason .

I do have the PC680 hooked-up to a solar trickle charger, awaiting a sale, or for Matt to borrow it for some whacky mod ideas he has...

Eric, nice work. If I didn't ditch the battery box, I'd be customer!

Anybody know what the average life is for one of these batteries? How does this small of a battery work with stereo? Say you have a amp or 2?
