Drivetrain Dinan upgrades
I did the S1 first and enjoyed it very much. I got the itch for a little more oomph, so I've recently added the boost upgrade kit. I don't think I'll do the throttle body, though. Nobody has ever been able to document any gains with a throttle body, it seems. Maybe I'm wrong about that...

My Mini is a 04 with all options except the nav. system. There does seem to be a lot of nice systems available. I'm interested in a low sound, kind of mellow tone with no drone. But something with more guts than the stock sound Can not say that the loudest systems interest me. Down the road, may be next year I will be considering the Dinan boost package and thottle body. But for now the S1 package seems like the ticket
(hopefully not tickets). Joe R, I'm getting an O.K. deal in Madison Wi. but not 50% off retail, nice deal!! The Madtown dealer is knocking off some. Maybe they can give more as you buy more, like your dealer seems to be doing. Sounds as though the Silver Bullet is a very fun ride.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!!

I haven't had rusting problems (yet). The one thing that annoys me though is that being a one ball, most of the exhaust flows through the far tip, so it is always a different color than the inner tip - black from soot and heat colored, so its different even when it's clean.
Same here. I have the S1 plus boost/stage 5 plus TB, and if I had to do it again, I almost certainly would opt for a different exhaust mostly for this reason alone. I got my setup installed last spring (2007), and at first, it was easy to clean the left tip to match the right. Those days are long gone, sadly. Now it's just annoying.
One thing - when I purchased the upgrades last year, I had to wait a few weeks for the exhaust because my Dinan guy told me that there was an improved exhaust in the works that was supposed to clear up the discoloration issues. I have one of the supposedly updated setups, and it's no different (to my eyes) than earlier versions I have seen. But my dealer also said that Dinan was going to release an updated version with black tips. The wait was considerably longer so I (impatiently) opted for chrome, but does anyone know if the black-tip option ever surfaced?
I think I would opt for a 15% over a 19% with no fuel mods.

My bad, I have a 17% not a 19% pulley. And yes with no other mods, yet.
I dont see why there still having issue with the tips rusting. You wont be able to tell the difference with the tips b/c its just metal they use.
Simple thing you can do is sand down the tips and use BBQ paint to color them if you like.

id buy it in a sec for that price. It can also be installed for way under there posted times.
NW Mini is giving me a great deal because they are no longer selling Dinan products.

I might have to paypal you some money to ship me one but i think im going with the RMW cam they just made which is around $400 and you dont have to grind the spark plug tubes like you would to make the schrick cam fit.
What other parts do they have left for those good prices ya getting???

Do you know if they have any boost upgrades? Man, if they have discounted prices on something like that I'd strongly consider paying the shipping costs to get it to Wi. By the way, i"m getting an ala carte (for better price) S1 package installed wednesday!!!
Nope this sale was only for instock items to get them moved off the shelf plus it had to be installed by them. They are only going to be doing the JCW stuff now.Totaly fine with me as I got my Dinan FIX,lol
Last I checked they only had 3 boost upgrades instock me & 2 other NW guys recieved them.

Just installed an S3 suspension package on my MCS - the only Dinan gear on my car at this point. Initial impressions are positive - much enhanced turn-in, greater stability at speed and reduced body roll, while maintaining streetable ride quality.
