Drivetrain Dinan upgrades
Dinan will take care of it. Mini of Hawaii had an issue with the fuel pump when they installed my Fuel Upgrade Kit... The car would make a loud pumping noise on start-up, after they installed it... Dinan ended up sending out a new FPR and FP, after they tested it
I added my DINAN points to 21 out of a possible 26. Lacking the Brembo brakes - 3 pts - in favour of the JCW and the stage 6 with cam shaft - 2 points - I thought that it was time to turn to thoughts of safety. As you increase your points you might think about the same. I recently purchased a Stable Energies Harness Guide Bar and 2 Schroth harnesses. I have found that the grip between the leather seats and me is just not there. MINI has great cornering ability but, I think, very poor seating, unless specialty seats are added. I did not want to chuck lapis blue leather seats so next week the bar and harnesses are being added. I'll take some photos once they are installed and post. Has anyone else done this?

Hi there. I would love to ask anyone representing Dinan here:
I'm in the process of changing my stock pulley with a smaller one. Based on my mods listed below, would you recommend the perfect solution from Dinan?

I don't know if you're asking for an official Dinan installer, but I don't think anymore exist here, so I'll take a stab at your inquiry (BTW, they're very helpful on the phone):
If you get the Dinan pulley with the accompanying kit, you get a fuel pressure regulator to give more fuel, like your injectors do. They also basically mandate that you get the Dinan stage 5 software to help deal with the boost and fuel increase. So it seems like you'd be overlapping there.
I don't know how your injectors would affect the system, so you might just consider getting any pulley since your JCW ECU is already apparently meant to take the pulley into account.
I think you could save a lot of money that you've already spent (ie, don't spend it twice), by just getting a pulley and calling it a day.

If your still a member or is anybody else from Dinan able to look up a VIN on a used Mini that is claimed to have the S2 package. TL18684 is the last 7 digits.

Plan on getting the Dinan Throttle Body?
My wife had a guy in a Mustang pull up at a red light and laugh at her and rev up his engine. She gave him a taste of what a Dinan car can do! Only had the car for two days and she is allready racing.. I knew I should have gotten her just a normal MCS.
Back when I had a Callaway Camaro - she comes home and says "you need a bigger speedometer".

Anyone have problems with their ECU updates causing the car to run excessively rich? I've heard the '06 MCS is programmed to run a little richer to get more burble, but the car nearly backfires at every stop sign now. I've got a Dinan cowl, Stage 3 software, a 15% pulley and the JCW exhaust which shouldn't be a problem.
My dinan stage 5 does rumble when off the throttle and slowing down. I guess I could hook up my laptop and see what the A/F ratio is.
On a long trip from Pa down some big hills the car did throw a lean bank code. But I did put in a bottle of fuel system cleaner and the fuel station only had e10 gas. Since then no other A/F problems.

Edit - my S1 + the boost upgrade and ECU still pops like crazy on deceleration. I like it.

I bet its do to the 15% pulley.Stage3 is not ment for a pulley.
To use a 15% pulley you need,
MINI > Cooper S Coupe & Convertible (2002-2007) > Engine Tuning > Fuel Injection Upgrade Kit (for use with 14-16 psi supercharger pulley)
DC783-0032
MINI > Cooper S Coupe & Convertible (2002-2007) > Engine Tuning > Engine Software for Fuel Injection Upgrade Kit)
D903-16R S1-NP
& you should be safe & I bet the backfire will stop.

But to run stage5 software he still needs the boost upgrade kit.The thing is he is not running the Dinan pulley.
joe r
Are you getting any sort of backfires?
