I went to the office today to get my digital audio recorder and my efficient staff sold my "demo". ... hey, that's what they are supposed to do.

I took the car by Global and let Cometgirl, aka Amanda take it for a drive...... she loved the sound and is going to post later herself. I went by RSpeed and showed it to Hector and the guys and Hector was really impressed with the construction...... he really liked the it. I drove another 150 mi today and I am falling in love with this thing and I still have not heard or driven with the valve open. Randy could sell a "non valved" version if he wanted to....... this thing really works as is.....I can't wait for the switch next week.

Is the valve on there? I'm guessing its just a simple open close one without a springs? If so take two lengths of wire and open it with some battery power. Then you can check it out. Course then again randy might just kill you

Its true, I loved the way this exhaust sounds- the burble is so sweet and the car really jumps if you learn to shift it later than with a not-so-modified MINI. I was initially shifting like I do in my own car, which is waaaaay too early to even begin to feel the power. that is by far the fastest MINI I have ever driven. I would get in too much trouble if I had that much power on a daily basis. Bob, if you ever want a co-driver at the track, I am soooo your girl!

geez, Bob, you make me sound like some pro driver! I can't believe I scared you- or maybe you were just scared for your MINI? I think you knew what you were asking when you told me to take it for a spin. Thanks again, it was fun!

and you're right- I'm not shy!

I went for a 175 mile drive today/tonight in the N GA mts. and I got to tell you this thing ROCKS and i still have not opened it up yet(butterfly). The more I drive it the more I LOVE it...... It makes the engine seem like at least 2+ liters there is gobs of power ...... put your orders in....... I make no money and have no vested interest ..... now the bad news...... I threw/chewed my first belt and had to be flat bedded the last 70 miles home.... Thank God for AAA. It happened after a ***** to the walls red line effort in 1,2 and third gears...... the car was screamin! I slowed down and was cruising about 60 for about 10 miles and then it broke. (What size belt and how do I fix so I can go to the Atlanta Minis event tomorrow)

Bob, great news on the exhaust! Sorry to hear about the belt. I know there's a few threads here on the desired belt for a -19% SC pulley. At least I think that's what you have, with the 0% crank pulley...

Once up and running again, you might want to consider a 15/4 or 17/2. This will help you stay in about the same 19% range, but apparently with less belt wear. Not speaking from experience here... just something I've read a few times...

For the immediate concerns, these might help:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ght=19%25+belt

Hope you're back on the road soon...

While waiting 3 hrs for the flatbed last night I thought that SOON would be a good time to got to a 17 + 2 or something.

Thanks for the links...... I think the extra torque chewed the belt..... I was driving what I call the mini Dragon in N GA.....

1) Well if this new system causes all buyers to blow their belt then I would say Webb's desigh is highly suscessful . Note to Webb - include new belt with exhaust system .

2) SpiderX - assume you had your fill of seeing the leaves turning while sitting on the side of the road waiting for the truck . Proabably didn't help your back much either. The things Beta testers must go through!
