2.085 60ft Stock Cooper S engine

this was achieved yesterday with 205 15 BFG drag radials and a quaife diff, do you think it can go quicker????

This is our NHRA equilvent finals in Europe so the track is really good and should get better, this was achieved without a burnout.

Yes, please post the rest of the info on your times! i.e. 1/4 time, trap speed etc. You said it is a stock S, is that a carbon fiber hood on the car or just a black hood?

He said stock S engine. If you look it has the Cooper side grills, the hood is black, the front bumper is dark silver, the rear bumper is that of a Cooper and it has no spoiler. I think its a Cooper with an S engine swap and front end to go with it.

Look at the shocks. I'm pretty sure he's running a drag suspension. Of course, traction with our FWD cars and stock suspensions is very tricky- you have to really stiffen the back to do it right on the strip.

I'm not saying the rest of the car isn't set up for the strip, the interior is gutted. I'm just saying that its a Cooper with a stock Cooper S engine and a Cooper S front end.

It is a Mini One with stock Mini One suspension on it, the only mods we have done to it is a quaife diff 205 -15 drag radials and an M7 air filter which sits uner the skuttle where your servos would be.

Drag racers have the best excuses in the world why it didn't run this or that so here's mine,

The ECM has come up with 6 faults cam sensor ox sensors and egr solenoid valve, the engine seems to be in a safe mode as it only picked up 16ish mph in the back eighth.

The fastest time of the weekend (rained sat sun)

60ft 2.155
330ft 6.337
660ft 9.842
mph 69.98
1320 15.497
mph 86.22

Weight without me was 2245
with me was 2447

The weight / mph = 127 flywheel hp

FWIW, my MCS with rear seat, jack, floormats, cargo cover, etc removed, along with MUCH lighter wheels tires than stock (60 lb lighter total) weighed:

2612 lb without me, w/3 or 4 gallons

That's 367 lb difference! Looks like the MINI ONE is light, even with an MCS engine swap.

Amazing isn't it? I wonder what accounts for the weight difference. My friend who used to be an automotive engineer told me that the wiring harness for a fully optioned car can weight over 200lbs. That doesn't count the weight of the motors for the electric windows and all of those types of extras. I was discussing with him how they should switch to using one wire and packet technology to save weight, which he says might be coming soon. I think they should sell a MINI One with power nothing here, to save weight. The stock seats are so heavy too. I picked one up once. Unbelievable!

Andy,

What are the options that you have on your mini? What year is the car? I am trying to get my MCS a little lighter but keeping it all intake. I.E. replace parts with lighter ones.

My '03 MCS has every option available from the factory. It weighed close to 2800 lb in stock form with a full tank of gas.

Most modern cars use a "LAN" system. This eliminate the heavy wiring harness as various component signals are passed from module to module over the same wire.

We weighed the main wiring loom with the module and it weighed 35lb with the module.

We have no interior apart from the Mini One driver seat, no heater/ac unit. no air bags and no air con pump / rad / pipes.

We have just found our ecm problem so hopefully we'll have that extra 40hp back now and get into the 14s, the only problem is we've got to wait until the last weekend of the month for the next rwyb.
