Dont want to start an arguement or anything here but, I think 0-60 in the five second range is entirely possible, with some basic bolt on mods, like, intake, exhaust, ecu, 19% pulley.

OK - forgive the total noob question, as I know NOTHING about dragging a car... In looking at the graph back on the second page of this thread it looks like he got out of 1st gear REALLY fast - like under 3000 rpm - or is that first dip in the rpm due to wheel spin and the real shift from 1st to 2nd is over 7000?

It's possible in an '05, maybe, but not in an '04. I'm upper 5's now with my '04 Cosworth 2+, and I'm putting down seriously more power than a pulley and the easy stuff. One thing, though, I never flat shift. IF you do that, you could prob. hit it like .2 secs faster in either car, but these aren't american muscle, and I cringe at the idea.

edit: My numbers were right at JCW Gurl's, with stock redline and software at the time. And yes, my car is an '04, not an '06 like hers. So, judging from her numbers, I don't think a normal '05 or '06 could do 5.x with just the mods mentioned.

It's the latter. The "hump" in first gear is due to wheelspin/clutch release. I held each gear over 7k.

Sometimes the magazines will do whatever it takes to get good performance numbers. If this means going to a drag strip, pouring VHT on the track, lowering tire pressures then dumping the clutch at 6000 rpm, they will do it. I don't doubt the numbers, I doubt the repeatability of the numbers with an average MCS on an average street.

They also flat shift [engage without lifting off of the throttle], which and most street drivers would never consider doing.
