I'm not sure why either of you guys think my name is "Randy".

Anyway, nope BiM-COM is still in development. I do not have a date when it will be available because there is no date. It will be available when development is complete.

My chip (MTH at the time) let me exceed the factory 6950 rpm rev limit.

Randy - is Bim-Com for sale yet or what?

Mgear - most ECU mods (as he listed he used) raise the redline.

And that list is? I am curious.... Time to start the wish list...

But seriously, is there a list of junk to pile on the car (speaking about an '05) that will get someone into the sub 6.0 second range?

And like *I* said before - make even comparisons. THat list is not true for an '04, which we are talking about.

I'm surprised...

....most people aren't running the GIAC chip yet - it's a great piece of software engineering - Andy - as you, I used to own a '97 GTi VR6, a 2001 1.8t GTi and also a 2001 Audi S4 Avant - can you shed any light on the MTH vs. GIAC chip? Both my GTi and my S4 were garretized. :-)

I haven't gone to the dragstrip since I put on my smaller tires (or my GIAC/19%/380cc for that matter). As long as my mad skillz haven't deteriorated, I should improve.

I'm sure you could get into 5sec range on a stock engine if you remove enough weight from the car.. start by taking the doors off.

We must be related somewhere down the genetic line. My wife calls me Sargent Butthead.

And just to surmise - that took $5000+ in mods:

Intake
Pulley
ECU
Ignition wires
Intercooler
Racing cat
Exhaust
Ported head
Light weight flywheel
LSD
Light weight wheels/sticky tires

...and I'm sure the suspension upgrades helped with take off too.

stock 2006 JCW 0-60

What else to do on a Saturday night right???
My fiance and I went out and tested Zeus to see what he could do...very impressed!

2006 JCW Mini
NO mods
Michelin X-Ice winter tires
2 people in the car

G-Tech used for all info.

Conditions: -18 degrees C

0-60 mph times
Run 1 6.01 seconds-let out clutch at 3000 rpm, lots of wheelspin, had to lift before getting back on the throttle.
Run 2 5.98 seconds-got rolling before putting the hammer down, still some wheelspin but lost time when engine bounced off rev limiter.
Run 3 5.72 seconds-got rolling before giving full gas, some wheelspin and shifted as tach crossed 6500 rpm.

Ok, this should put to rest any arguement that the JCW package isn't much better than a stock MCS

I know!!!

We are still in shock but it is the god's honest truth!

The best time my BF had in his 911 was 5.5sec with sticky tires....

I am pumped to auto-x in ...oh...another 6 months when the snow goes away. There is a particular female Sti driver that needs a lickin!
