Drivetrain Anyone running more than 7250 rev?
Whilst it isn't dangerous in the short term, in the long term you won't be doing your engine any good.
Above 7,300ish, the valve retainers can start to float, so uprated titanium retainers are a good idea.
If you want to be doubly sure that you can take your car to 7250+ on a regular basis, get stronger rod bolts fitted at the very least, and change out the hydraulic tappets for solid ones. You can have these fabricated at any good race shop. BBR in the UK have been taking their cars to 8,000rpm+ with these changes!

The Cosworth kit I have has a 7300 rpm tune. The redline stays there even with the optional 2% oversize crank pulley. Track testing was done and it's been fine. The highest rpm available is 8500, and I know someone running that with a 19% and a lightweight crank pulley [not sure if oversized]. It's driven on the track, and the car has not had anything save the power steering fan croak.
