JCW CAI Install Hours w/o Injectors

How many tech hours does this take to install? I could only find directions for installation with injectors and CAI install.

I'm having Tate in Annapolis install it on Thursday and would like to know how many hours they're going to take to do this job.

Thanks.

Kurt

I think it's longer than that

the JCW CAI has mechnical crap it has to connect to for the flapper valve.... I may be wrong.. hence why I want to see an install PDF for install w/o injectors.

My dealer charged 1.5 hours for installing the air box, injectors and ECU reflash.

As previously posted ... "1 at the most" for just the air box.

Whether you're installing injectors or not, you should be able to do it yourself using the pdf file directions from motoringfile.com They're pretty straightforward. I ran a search on it earlier today, and there's good info on install procedures as well.

I wouldn't think you'd have a problem doing it yourself. Why pay someone if you don't have to, unless you're paying them to have them cover it under warranty?

I was told 1 1/4 tech hours, Crevier charged me like $85 or so, so it must have gone faster than 1 1/4 hours.

It took ME an hour of actual work, and that was fumbling through it on my own, at night, with incomplete instructions (the PDF file). It would take me about 30 min now, a shop maybe 15. What it takes and what is charged are two different things. I just happen to remember the PDF has the shop hour recomendations printed in it.

Should I disconnected the battery for the installation? Because I just eye ball the PDF file and looks like it didn't mention about that.

There is no need to. You are only splicing into one wire, and it's not live when the car is off. The ground is just removing a bolt for another ground wire. It wouldn't hurt anything to disconnect it, but you don't need to.
