Bob,

I got just the AGS. I was having issues getting the AGS tube to seat properly or so I though until I finally realized after cursing for 30 minutes that it had seated just fine, I just wasn't feeling in the right place.....

I will have the car all back together tomorrow and be happy to share what I find. Keep in mind I will have no dyno charts from before or after, just my rear and my ear.

I, Custom AV and Ryephile have have completed installing the AGS. I think it took all of us roughly the same time...not bad, considering none of us had written instructions A couple of walk through from Peter and consulations with Ryephile did the trick. The install is pretty direct...but a little time consuming. Haven't fired it up yet. I still need to take off my wheels while it's in the air and check the Konis and bleed the clutch. Then, I'll be able to take off for a test cruise

Your impressions of the AGS' effect on throttle response, power and sound would be greatly appreciated but those of us who are still scraping together the dough

By all means:smile: I think Custom AV or Ryephile will get on the road first. I'll post my impressions tomorrow after the Mini's back on the ground

I just got back to the house and will be putting the bumper cover back on in a few minutes (am doing a slight change to the bumper and had to wait for the paint to dry).

I hope to have it on the road in about an hour and I will happily post what I feel.

I will go ahead and start another thread so that MSFITOY and Ryephile can add thier comments as well.

I still think a "drive-by" sound shoot out at MOTD would be the ticket...

Someone bring professional quality audio/video equipment. All we need is a hundred feet of blocked off road (maybe the length of the main parking lot with the equipment set at mid-point) so each Mini with different intake/exhaust combination can drive by in second gear WOT at around 4000rpm...well...come to think of it...that would be a 50mph roll on. Let's say 3000rpm roll on instead The sound will include acceleration, intake, exhaust, let-off and braking. This will provide everyone a A,B,C,D, etc comparision of the sounds during approach and departure

Done once and for all within a few minutes of recording to be referenced and treasured for all times

Yes, it would. Yes, it would.

We did some video footage with Octane guy recently which will be debuted in the near future. He will be at the MOTD maby we can set something up. Of couse if we have anything to do with it people will claim that we doctored the media as NO mini will sound like that LOL

This is a link to anotherthread on here about the AGS sound. they are two real short ones from a track day with my car and Will Turner atthe wheel.

Damn! this has got to be the most frustrating thread i have ever read on this or any other site! enough already!
i have kept my big mouth shut through the old men bickering, thru the vendor goin back on his "word" and bla bla bla bla.
all i want to know is if the damn thing does what it says (besides make noise).

for the record, this is not a personal attack. i value and trust (for some reason) many of your opinions. i know that some of you know what your talkin about. i dont trust vendors opinions of their products, i trust the ppl buying the products and runnin them. i usually have looked to my friends for that info but, since i no longer drive a subaru i have to look to ya'll for some guidance and re-assurance.

so, i beg of you all, if you have anything to back up what the m7 crew is boasting please post it. i want the ags to be that good BUT, im not going to dump my money on a maybe.

does anyone have any concrete proof?

sorry bout the rant.

Man I watched that vid for the first time a few hours ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. If it was only $50 cheaper and maybe a little easier to install...

before reading this please take into account that I have had a few cocktails so I decided a few moments on the ol' forum would help and of course I would pick one of the most controversial topics on the board...

I too am a certified installer like Sid (was one of the early, read that as first like him, adopters of the AGS) so if MI is too far bring it on down south y'all....

Anyway., what would you like for concrete proof? Sorry I do not have dyno numbers (others I assume and think do). What I do have is experience and the logic that my brain attempts to recognize.

From stock to Alta to AGS, I have witnessed improvements alltogether in each realm.

By going to the AGS (which I have said before in write ups here) improves throttle response which of course improves acceleration.

Here is where the logic plays in: take the stock intake (even include the Alta in this since it uses most of the same components). From the supercharger to the Throttlebody you have a twisted tube, meaning that air does not flow straight in this case. Then from there it goes through another tube to the air box, an even twistier tube (think of a few turns of the dragon and you get the idea). Then it goes to the filter to suck all that air into those twists and turns. How much airflow will you lose? (just search for the thread in which the numbers are shown as I am too lazy).......

Now take the AGS. Remove pounds of crap (i mean to say all those twisty tubes) and have a tube from the Supercharger that flows to the TB (throttlebody that is, been drinking remember?) that is straight as an arrow! Then get rid of all that crap in the way to the filter and reposition the TB smack onto the AGS (supercharger) tube and then... are you waiting?... you actually bolt the filter right onto the TB

Yes folks, I realize this is the unthinkable but the supercharger gets the most direct flow of air from the filter possible. That is where the logic kicks in, more direct air flow will equate to better performance. Isn't that the claim of any company producing an Intake? Well find me another company that has produced an intake that can match this kind of airflow baby!

oh and by the way, I dumped my money on a maybe and couldn't be happier, life's too short not to take risks and you certainly can't take it with you when you go so what the hell are you going to do with it otherwise?

Again I apologize for my behavior and smugness as this has been an alcohol induced production.....

I'm really interested in the AGS but am looking for a more comprehendsive set of installation instructions then the one currently available on M7's website.

Any chance a more detailed How-To will be done with some proper pictures?

Thank you Chris......

This is the week when we release the V.3 version of the AGS, and with this version we have finally nailed it, better flow, faster response and more power. The V.3 AGS tube is now light years ahead of the original rotary molded part, now CNC machined and TIG welded for perfect fit and finish.
The first V.3 unit was installed on Don Coopers M7/Cosworth car and honestly the most amazing thing with the car is the throttle response which
I partly blame on the V.3 and the propritary 10+ Technology that we developed on the Cosworth head.
