Well this is just my opinion, but I dont like the AGS for several reasons.

First like everyone says there are no numbers to back this product up it seems like everyone just assumes it has to be great because it's different and we all know what assuming does.

Second I'm no engineer but I am going to school to be one. I have learned a lot about design through working on my schools Formula SAE team. I do not see really any engineering knowledge or reasoning behind the design of the product. The fact that it is a straight shot of air is not enough for me. If you are interested in intake design check out some of the Formula SAE cars. These cars are built by the best engineering students in the world.

Third no offense to the boys of M7 but in my opinion I do not feel like they know that much about intake design. I remember reading one post where one of the guys said that they figured out they could increase airflow by puting a larger air filter on the end of the AGS, thus larger surface area increased air flow. In my opinion a concept like that should be common knowledge to someone designing an intake and should not be something that is figured out in testing.

Finally I just generally do not like all of the hype surrounding this product. Sure all products get some hype its part of advertising, but it just seems like it got out of control. I mean if you think it will make gains great but do not go around telling everyone this is the best intake ever designed and everything else is just a joke compared to it.

Like I said this is all just my opinion. If you like the product then by all means go out and buy it, but I do not plan on buying one. I think it's great that JCampos posted this video up so everyone can check out the AGS, but don't get all upset because people are skeptical of a product. If it wasn't for skeptics and a difference of opinions we really wouldn't have too much to discuss on this message board.

You dont know anything about the product short of the hype and hysteria. Why not give the product a chance to meet the market before you make up your mind?? seems fair enough doesn't it??

First off, the things been out for all of what.... 3 days? Do you really think that putting an AGS on a highly modified MINI like Peter or Randy's will really give you numbers that you either wont believe or completely dislike? Do you also think that Randy and Peter are going to go buy a new MINI just to do a dyno plot for this product?

Design a better one if you think these guys dont know what they are doing. I doubt you have any more knowledge than Peter or Randy about designing anything... after all, you are a student and they run a successful business. I really dont think anyone will take your insults of intelligence seriously considering you cant spell "advertising".

Doubt the product all you want. I dont care, your loss and one MINI my car is still faster than. But remember one thing, I have one and you dont... so I think my input is a little more credible than yours.

Sorry I fixed the spelling error for you .

I never said I had more knowledge then Peter or Randy, I respect both of them and their companies. I fail to see the connection between engineering and running a succesful business, maybe you could clarify that for me.

The only reason I gave my input is because it was asked for. I dont plan spending 500 dollars just to put something on my car so I can determine if I like it or not. If m7 wants to send me one to try out I would be more than happy to give it a shot and let everyone know what I think about it.

I'm actually really happy with my Alta intake and know you can't make very big gains on an intake alone so for those reasons I do not plan on designing my own.

BTW it's awesome that you are able to rate peoples intelligence, maybe you should work for universities in the admissions department.

Funny how you think your mini is faster but there is no evidence to prove it except for oh yeah a sound clip. I would love for you to come down to Texas and show me how much faster your mini is on the track.

If you are happy with the intake that's awesome I'm happy for you, but dont get mad at me or anyone else just because we have a difference of opinion. We can sit her all day and argue but our opinions will not change, atleast not until actual unbiased numbers come out. So lets not waste our time and move on.

Have them send me an AGS and I will dyno it on my bone stock 2005 Cooper S on the Dynapack that I use daily at work. That will cut out all this hooplah!

Poor Matt, what's this, like the 4th time you've offered up your bone stock MCS for testing purposes – I think they're avoiding you...

Only the 3rd I think. But you're right, I'm getting the feeling that i'm being ignored. I'm starting to think that people really don't want to see any real dyno results for this thing!

or they just might not want to send you a product for nothing just to prove your point. i feel that in due time with customer feed back, and testing your numbers and results will come about. Given that i have a bone stock 05 mcs and am in the market looking to start performance upgrades, i feel that due time should be given and customer feed back ie, black and white for you number junkies will be better than the companies numbers. i feel that jumping down m7 and customers throats for numbers 3 days after its release is a bit much. just give people time.
by the way thanks for the vid sounds, and good to see it in action

Good Evening mattharris...

No one is trying to avoid you, but we are burried in orders for AGS's, Hood scoops and more. So hanging out and answering your repeated offer is not
possible during the day. The other reason we are not taking you up on your
offer is that we do not know you, your affiliations or motives. Don't take it personally but we have been burnt before when we let products go to unknown
NAM members who promissed to give us a fair shake.....

And the final reason, We do not have any available to send you, as we are sold out on the first run.

Ps. There will be 3 cars with the AGS at the Dragon....To find them
just listen

Sincerely

Peter

I propose a MINI fight!!!

Randy Webb and m7 Peter team up, to take on 2 from the El Diablito Crew and they pick a track each, and duke it out on the track, MINI e MINI.

The losers have to swallow the winners Air Intakes.
(This is where the size of the AGS will come in VERY handy)

Edited to add: This post probably belongs on the "other" AGS thread, but it's late right now, 11.53pm to be exact, and I cant really tell the difference between this thread and all the others in the Performance Mods Drivetrain category because they all exactly the same with this BS bickering.

Not sure what this means, since all the Wright brothers used a lot of calculations and numbers. Pretty hard to fly without any numbers. Much easier to sell products with no numbers though.

Not sure why everyone is mad because a few people don't like it. If you like it great. You post a thread with sound clips, so I would assume that you would like feedback.

Now this is a reason I can understand. I've seen the same thing happen in the Audi/VW community. I'm essentially in the same business as you guys are, just a different market. So I have a fair understanding how all this works. My only motivation in this situation was to get a product that looks pretty cool for free and to provide you guys with dyno results that 'clarify' the situation either way. just for future reference, here's my place of business: http://www.goapr.com

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

This is how good developer do, they take comments and they show the real results to improve their products.

I just don't understand why anyone would not want to post the dyno results when there are a lot of people interested in seeing it. Sure, you could sell a product for it's sound and looks, but with a dyno number to back it up, you could sell even more!

They're having trouble keeping up with the demand as it is I'm sure people who have or will have AGS will post their own dyno results. I know I will. The fence sitters will just have to wait

You're the man!

I think you have HAI right now right? If you could do one with HAI and one with AGS would be nice.

I don't like the sound that much, but if it does make 20 hp I will buy one for sure!

This isnt the issue. Im fine with people being skeptical, its when they start talkin the trash that I get pissed.... comments like "trying make your car SOUND like its fast", "I agree that the sound is out to the street for a better pronuce that "HEy! I'm a Ricer"", and accusations that this is an advertisement are completely uncalled for and just simply disrepectful.

Speaking of comments that are "completely uncalled for and just simply disrepectful." how do you feel about this post you made earlier in the thread? Very respectful?

...and JCampos comments like "It makes the Alta sound like crap." That's the first thing he said...You put out comment like that and you insist to the same type of comment back?

Yes, Alta sound like crap and AGS sound like a Rice car...that's fair enough!

Forget the comments man! Who cares? You like it that's all.
