Has anybody tried or thought of cutting off the muffler, and running just the resonator?? How loud do you think it might be???

The one ball makes a lot of sense, it would have been perfect if the stock system were reversed, then you would have had a better balance with the remaining weight on the passenger side and the tips out the back.
I really like that kit with the stainless steel pipe piece, if that had been available
I may gone with it instead of my Magnaflow.
one ball
I bought the fast toys piece.
It is two "bends" welded together. The bends are very nicley done. It came with some very nice T bolt clamps. I plan to try it out this spring, but I am hoping to hear some one elses "one ball" before I take the hack saw to my car, just in case I find the noise objectionable.
I recall recently seeing another vendor selling a "polished" piece that looked to be one piece. His product was on either this board, or maybe the MINI2 board.

I have the one-ball mod. Instead of using anything like you just bought, I had an exhaust shop out here in Hawaii just chop off the resonator and weld a piece inbetween.
I am happy with the sound little louder and my 05 pops more now then it did with the full exhaust. Some people say that there is some droning with the one-ball but if there is I have never been bothered by it.

I have been around a number of " one ball " cars and everyone has been happy with the results. The tone is about the same but slightly louder. No drone to speak of. If you were to do the mod and didn't like it , trust me there are 100's of stock exhausts gathering dust in peoples garages and you could certainly get one for cheap if not free.

I had a local shop do it.
They made the compound bend with about 5 pieces they cut from other bends they had in the shop. Beautiful work, total cost, $90!
I didn't do any dyno runs to measure any difference, I just take it that the about 270 degree bend in the resonator didn't help flow any.
And even if it doesn't do anything for power, I think you save over 20 lbs in weight.
I'm very happy.

exactly
I am interested in this mod for Black Tie, and am wondering if anyone has an underside picture of their car with the mod or if someone can give me a very specific description of what section comes out. Thanks!

There's also a company in England that makes the part....
http://www.gtt.uk.com/home.asp wander around there, I think it's about 40 pounds.... May be less than the fasttoy. My exhaust guy did it for $90 and a very nice job!
