How to make one-ball to sound a bit meaner?

I might have to take off my WMS exhaust next week for one-ball exhaust..
and I am just wondering if there is anyway that I can make one-ball sound a tad bit louder than they are.

Exhaust cut outs? (Piping is what, 2.25?) but I 'm afraid I won't pass inspection with cutouts dangling..

There seems to be no point of increasing midpipes' size, no point of doign 'one-ball' if I 'm going to change the muffler.. eh?

Throw me some ideas!

you can flange right after the cat to 2.5 and add a new piping that is 2.5 all the way back to the muffler. Other then that a header is the only clear choice for it getting a bit louder.

I upped the piping of the mid-pipe to 2.5" when I did my one-ball. It got a TINY bit louder but overall not much at all. Needless to say I wasn't happy with it, plus it didn't do anything for me in terms of performance.

I think you're better off doing a custom exhaust with 2.5" Piping and one muffler on the passenger side. I doubt you'll like the one-ball after coming from the WMS exhaust, either in sound or performance lol...

Not much to do beside up sizing and going headers eh? thank you for responding..!
I may get rid of the WMs for real cheap and then run on one-ball until I can pick up a miltek and mate it with a catless mani..

I have the OBX with one-ball and it sounds good! It's fairly loud when you get on it too, but mainly only from the outside, which is a good thing in my opinion. I had it catless originally, it was very loud, which is maybe what you want. I added a cat to quiet it down actually haha, forget that it was the more legal and "green" thing to do. It wasn't so much the volume that bothered me, it was the damn popping that the 05's make!! It was obnoxious without the cat! (it still kinda is annoying...)

here is the link to some sound clips so you can get somewhat of an idea of the sound with the header:

you can always make a few holes in the muffler - that will make louder

I remembered this pipe that you can install before your muffler that has a butterfly valve controlled by vacumm so when you were on boost the valve opened and you have straight exhaust. when driving normally in town you have your regular one ball sound.

I think I read about it in a VW forum.

That's more or less how the factory E36 M3 muffler works. I do miss the sounds that car made...

Why do you have to sell the WMS system?
