fuel questions... and ideas...

hello everyone, i got a 03 mcs with a 19% pulley and as most of us know if you can get a little more fuel we can get more HP.... working along with a ECU of course.

now i have a few ideas and i wonder if they would work....

1. use the fuel pump, fuel preasure regulator and injectors from a BMW m3.

2. use the fuel pump, fuel preasure regulator from a bmw m3 with the m7 440cc injectors.

*for both of them the right ECU and new fuel lines will be needed as well*

and here are my questions

1. what are the specs on the fuel pump ton the cooper s and is it enough for the bigger injectors?

2. would the m3 part work on the mini?

3. is there any fuel upgrades for sale for the mini?

now feel free to give me some ideas! im all confused with this fuel upgrade deal....

thanks

Carlos

injectors

if youre looking for bigger injectors m7 sells them. i also hear that helix will have injectors combined with the giac flash for a 19% pulley, youd have to call helix for that info.

Back in 1968 I had a Dodge Dart with a 383 ci and one of the things that helped the engine from starving from a lack of fuel was we added a 12 volt elect. fuel pump inline to help the fuel move better from the tank to the engine. .

Something cheap to try, just pick up a 12 volt pump, cut the fuel line, add in the pump, (also we put in an on/off switch) and give it a go.

JLM is currently running the 440cc injectors on his rig with the Stock Fuel pump and regulator. He has no problems. Also he is running a SAFC2 controler to help dial in the injectors better. I think but not positive he is running an AFTERMARKET ECU flash as well. The AMD one click but i could wrong on that. I do know he has had alot of engine work done via THEOLDONES. So far there has been no trouble keeping enough fuel going to the injectors.

Carlos,

Read Greatgro's post on the 19% with GIAC software and injectors. That's the way I'm going to go.

I've heard that the stock fuel pump is more than adequate for our hp needs - well beyond 300 hp, if I recall correctly...

those lies about me are true.

Roland, in the UK, claims he is getting 273hp without the need for an ECU tune or larger injectors, but his data is skimpy and his findings contradict several others. buyer beware.

I think the big hp guys (300 whp range)...red devil, Helix and Hubie have had enough gas with the stock pump, fuel ines and regulator at stock 51psi.

this weekend there is a dyno party in SoCal and the expectation is >300whp. let's be sure to ask about the A/F at 6800 rpm, eh?

It's true. Why go through all that trouble - GIAC software and injectors are available. You too can fly off the line.

If things go as we plan.... the 300 hp barrier will go down....
