Drivetrain Bbr
I had a BBR220 conversion on my car (now a GTT phase 1/2 conversion which drives so much better and has the same power).
Basically all the BBR conversion consists of is a 20% aluminium pulley and a MTH remap (bumped up 500% in price) plus a FORD idler pulley assembly.
If I were you I would save your money and get an Alta 19% pulley, injectors and a GIAC remap. This will be far more effective/powerful/driveable than the BBR stuff.
BBR have no US agent BTW. You have to contact them yourself and pay up for the shipping!
HTH,
Henry

Okay, thanks.
I omitted important information, however; I have an 05 JCW kit on the car. I am toying with the thought of adding a 19% pulley, and a different idler pulley to help with higher revs. But I'm concerned about how to handle re-mapping the (JCW) ECU. Any thoughts???
This seems like a farily easy way to add a little more horse power/torque. And yes, I know this was a bit backward. This is a company car and the company picked up the JCW kit also, stating, they didn't want me wasting my time under the hood like the last car. So here I am.

More info is always welcome, even if it is retrospectively
:p
You are right in thinking that if you want a bit more zest from your JCW car get a 17%-19% pulley and uprate the idler pulley. GT Tuning here in the UK (+44 (0)1258455545) offers the best uprated one I have come across in terms of design. Mind you I can only compare the BBR one to the GTT one because I have had both :p. I believe Helix is going to offer one soon as well.
Changing your belt on a regular basis and uprating the idler pulley will prevent alot of hassle down the line.
Since you were asking after BBR as a parts supplier I would say give them a miss and spend your money elsewhere. Their customer service stinks this side of the pond so I shudder to think what it's like ordering from abroad!
Regarding retuning the JCW ecu, check out the MTH mod. Franz will be able to write you a slightly modified map based on your original that will make best use of the mods you add in future. Alternatively there is the Unichip, but from what I have read this route can be slightly more problematic. It's your call
Cheers,
Henry

MTH is the custom cartune ecu remap offered through a guy called Franz Holz in Germany. If you do a search for MTH it should pull up all the info you need. There is also a MTH sticky at the top of this forum I believe.

I was thinkink about getting the Ford Cosworth idler pulley, but I wan't to get some feedback on it first. Supposedly it will take more of a beating than our stock idler. Can someone shed some light on this?
Thanks Again

Any pics of either of these idler pulleys. I've yet to see any of the uprated ones. Also, there has been some confusion in the past, whether this part is the "tensioner" or the "idler" pulley.
TIA,

p4,
I should have my idler pulley (not tensioner) back by the middle of next month ( I left it at GT tuning when they converted my car last, doh!). When I have the BBR idler pulley back I will post pictures and it will be up for sale for whoever wants it at a decent price. I would want 100 dollars + shipping. It is in as new condition with only 18,000 miles use. I'll keep you informed

The BBR idler pulley is just that, an idler pulley. I have it installed and running in my car.
The BBR idler pulley is just a Ford Escort Cosworth idler pulley redrilled and modified to fit the Mini. It is much beefier and has large lips on the side to make sure the belt stays on the pulley.
I was in a car accident last week and my car is in the shop. I have been meaning to go there and check on my baby. If I do, I will try and snap whatever pictures I can.

BBR=Big Buck Racing
BBR, hmmm must stand for Big Buck Racing, because you'll need some seriously big bucks to afford their 275 hp stage 4 engine kit is something like 13 grand US, and their lower power kits I'm sure are equally outrageous in price. I'd stick to the US tuners, I'm sure BBR is great, but after a few inquiring e-mails I've sent them, the replies made it quite clear their prices are way way way too high considering you can get well over 200bhp here in the USA and spend thousands less.
