About to make a big purchase for maintenance and upgrades. Thoughts? Opinions?

As the title says, I'm going to make a big purchase over at WayMotorWorks because my 06 R53 is getting to that point where big maintenance is becoming necessary, ~80k miles.

So far this is what I have in my cart;

Powerflex Control Arm Bushings and ball joints

16% Pulley Package

WMW Sway Bar Package

In Cabin Air Filter Charcoal

Fel-Pro Oil Pan Gasket

Fel-Pro Valve Cover Gasket

OEM Fuel Filter

Crankshaft Position Sensor O-Ring

WMW Rear Shock Spacers to use the R56 rear trailing arms with the R53

ATI Super Damper Crank Pulley, Stock size.

Ultimate Supercharger Oil Change kit that includes new water pump.

Is this a good list? anything I should look at my car and check to include?

any and all help would be very appreciated!

~Stay safe!

I would inspect/consider a belt tensioner and idler pulley, crank seal and new crank bolt, new little donut seals for the valve cover bolts, seals for the spark plug tubes if not included with the valve cover gasket, timing chain tensioner and seal, oil cooler seal if a manual, and the upper passenger motor mount and bolt.

These are supposed to work for the valve cover bolt seals as they’re not available separately from MINI.

Two sets are needed, but the extras are also supposed to work for the coil bolts.

This thread steered me towards oem over fel-pro.

thanks for the quick response!

I got a new motor mount already, just waiting to install it with the rest of the parts, I forgot about a belt tensioner, I'm going to add that too. Better safe than sorry.

Interesting read on the Fel-Pro gaskets. How have your OEM been holding up? I was under the impression that the Fel-Pro would last longer, but seems to not be the case.

Not sure what's included in the sway bar package, but if you're going to pull the subframe to do the control arm bushings, I'd replace the steering rack bushing and the front sway bar bushings.

I agree with the spark plug tube oil seal suggestion as well as the tensioner, it's much easier to change the tensioner when the crank pulley is off.

I'd also look at the strut top mounts, at 80,000 miles they could be getting close to done.

My unsolicited advice is to go with powerflex black. I've had purple and black, neither add noise, vibration or harshness, but the black feel a bit better when pushed.

Also, I'd get way's crank pulley puller to make that job easier.

It’s still waiting to be installed with a bunch of other parts.

I also did big maintenance a little while ago. I also added parts like:
-Waterpump
-Thermostat + housing
-New T-MAP sensor
-New BPV
-New bolts for rocker cover
-New PCV valve
-New dipstick tube
-New O-ring for crank sensor
-New rubber O-rings for injectors
-New gaskets for everything that you dismantle (supercharger intake tube, throttle body, coolant flange, etc)

I documented almost everything in my build thread, follow my signature for a link
