Well it's finally in....and OH MY!!!....The carbon fiber intake from BenFer Performance.... http://www.benferperformance.com/main.pl

It has direct cold air from a hood scoup and a connected "y-pipe"...the whine of the SC is plenty loud and I still have the stock pulley...heh he...when ever you blip durring down shifting you here that shwah sucking sound of the intake...IT"S SO KEWL!!

the quality is unbelivable...

the customer service was above and beyond I cannot express that enough....if Dan wants I'll post why I say that...but trust me...the guys know how to treat people...

Looks great and goes with the "style" of your car.

Makes me want to sing a song. Doom. DoomDoomDoom Doom Doom Sorry...flashbacks to the Zim cartoon

onasled, you really shouldn't temp Tuls like that. He's quite weak when it comes to shiny CF parts.

Tuls!

VERY COOL!! Your car looks incredible! Man, you and I have very similar tastes! Where did you get the carbon rear spoiler? I have been looking at Mini Spares for a while and have yet to make the jump, but I wanted to paint it and put a detail in and here you go and beat me to it!! The intake looks fantastic too, but I just popped for the JCW intake. I have been talking to BenFer just recently about a carbon intercooler cover! Great stuff!

Thanks!!! It's nice to see that I am not the only one who likes it...heh ehh...

Mini d: you can use the hood scoup Y pipe for your JCW....I was just telling a good friend of mine that the other day...he too just got the JCW...it's the only way to ensure true cold air...IMO... as for the wing...I know how you feel there were/ are so many things I am wanting to do that I am affraid someone else will do first....but ...oh well...no biggie...we are all in the same family so...

Msfitoy: thanks for the note on the photo...I love doing that...it's just so funny to me...no matter how many times I look at is...I'll say, "It's a Toy!!"...I like to keep my self entertained....heh he...

As for the wing...it is the Aero style yes...and I got it from a place in Taiwan...best part is they except paypal...also...I couldn't believe how fast they got the wing to me...I mean...it was like 3 days...or something...and that was during the holidays no less....

here's the link:

and here's one on ebay!

very cool, howd you get the bar to attach in the back? seems like it would be more usefull back there anyways...

next you need some carbon fiber seats to compliment everything http://sportscar-parts.com/mivastore...=SP951roadster

The quality of the wing was great!! really nice...mine didn't have any wierdness

as for pics...you can create depth of field like that by changing the stop on you camera...stopin it down ussually works...if you don't hage that ability...just blur the edges some how....

tuls.. i got the ben fer stuff too, just without your cai (i already got the alta)

wondering as such a cf fanatic like me (i just cant afford it, thats our difference! ) what would u use to seal the gap between the downpipe and the hole from the alta partition.. i was thinking of silicone or just epoxy the two together, but i wonder what would happen when the engine shakes.......

accually my buddy has the alta and he had mocked up a hood scoup yrs ago before it was in production and it didn't have to directly connect...just the fact that is was accually funneling the cold air in the to engine insted of it trying to suck in from air passing over made a big enough difference that you could feel it...

So I would just get the hood soup y pipe anyway...you will be helping 100% cause it's directing the air right to it....

I didn't see the CAI/Y-pipe on the BenFer site. What do they cost?

Very nice!

As a fellow carbon fiber addict, I'm drooling over all the nifty parts. Great idea to mount the front strut tower brace as a rear brace. I've printed off the pictures you've posted to show some friends.
Here's a link for having carbon S's made to overlay the red S's on the outside of your car. I've done it to my car and it looks sweet. Keep up the great work!!!

Nice Tuls...I especially like how you etched out stuff in CF.

I was wondering, from the pics, did you remove the back seats?

If so, how much weight did you save, and how easy/hard would it be to put them back in (jic you need them)

Thanks,

L

There's a reseller list on the benfer site. See the original post for the link.

How To...Rear Strut Bar

Tuls,

Cal you provide instructions on how to make this bar? Did you have to cut or chop the original CF bar? Where did you come up with the brackets? Does it bolt up to original bolts or is drilling required?

Why doesn't anybody manufacture this bar?

Nice looking install. Did you have to fabricate your own mounting brackets?

If you check this post, you'll see that Racing Dynamics is now marketing a Carbon Fiber Rear Strut Brace.
