New Mini Sport S/E 4 Pot Brakes

Has anyone tried the new mini sport 4 POT brakes shown here (http://www.minisport.com/new-mini-sh...s-product.html)

They fit in the stock location and within 16" wheels. They are also adonized and can be purchased for front and back. I think they look cool and would give some performance advantage.

I was wondering about them too. I like them as they are lighter.

It'd be way cool if they meet all of the following conditions:

1) uses stock-size pads
2) uses stock-size rotors
3) piston displacement is close to oem caliper's spec (to maintain f-r balance)
3) fits under stock s-heavies and 16" wheels

It looks like the price is per pair, since the price quoted for the full front kit with rotors is only £119.16 more than that quoted for the caliper(s). This difference is approximately the cost of a pair of aftermarket rotors.

They say they fit behind original MINI wheels so I would assume this is a direct replacement for the stock calipers and would probably fit my 15" wheels.

They appear to be direct replacement and size. I think the added benefits are:
  • Looks
  • some improvement in braking
I think the big brake kits look aweful, with these really nice calipers painted and everything, and then the rears still have stock calipers on. It looks aweful. I am not sure why the brake kits don't come with calipers for front and back. When you see an OEM Brembo kit, such as on the EVO VIII or G35, they have Brembo calipers on the front and back. These kits are adonized, so they should hold up well, and give a really neat look to the wheels.

Secondly, these are 4 POT, which should provide a little better brake feel. They aren't oversized, so they won't compete with big brake kits in stopping power necessarily, but they will improve the feel over stock, especially with some aftermarket rotors and some brake lines.

I was thinking they would add a really nice like to the car. I wish it just said Mini on the side of them and not New Mini Sport. They may be high priced, but heck, people spend $4,000 for sets of wheels on the Mini, just for looks.

They do look pretty cool. I'd bet that the lettering could be removed w/o damaging tha anodizing.

Does someone know if the pistons are sealed with rubber boots?

The text mentions this as a KIT, and the link even says SE Brake Kits... my guess is that the price is for 4 calipers, but I could be wrong... One of their US agents lists the price for $846...

Red anodized would look great on my ride!
