Removing Original Exhaust Tips

Just received my ECS Tuning tips and am trying to remove the originals from my 09 Clubman....been on there a long time. Removed the allen bolts, but they are rusted on. Have tried PB Blaster (shooting from the front to back within the two walls, and letting it soak), and an old style oil filter wrench, and tapping on them with a hammer, but no go. I don't think that heating them would do much good because of the double wall construction. I hate to cut them off.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Its the rusted allen screw that stuck on. And then the inner way sticks, grab it with a wrench and do the thist back and forth. Drive it around and let it heat up a bit, then twist it again. Should be able to walk it off back and forth.

Thanks for the order the the ECS Tuning tips are universal and 2.5" on the inner , the stock cooper S inner is about little under 50mm wide. So u will have to set it up little over 1/2 inch.

If you have no care for the original tips it sounds like you didn't use a large enough hammer.

thanks for the replies. Allen screw comes out very easily. the inner piece is pretty solidly rusted on to the pipe...probably due to the road salt they use around here. I've tried a hammer with a piece of wood, and have tried to pliers approach. No go so far....still trying to avoid damaging them. Intend to try a bigger hammer with a piece of 2x4 to try to walk it off.

update-
pulled the exhaust system off and used a medium sized dead blow hammer to beat them off. It took many heavy blows to break them free due to the rust. There is no way that could have gotten them off while on the car....maybe if I had a lift, but even then it would have been tough.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the northeast winters did a number on them.

Do you know if this is the same case for Countryman 2016 S All4? I want to change exhaust tip but I not sure if my car could be removed.
