I dropped a screw and I found a silver one to replace it. Does anyone know if the dealer has the oem one or should I just go to the hardware store and look for a black screw with a torx head? The screw would be similar to the one that screws in near the cowl.

BTW, if you notice the hose clamp missing..it really is. I have to buy one tomorrow.

I’d just go to the store and pick one up.

BTW did you buy the CAI used? When I got mine from Madness 2 years ago it came with oil, cleaner and stainless steel hose clamp along with the filter and housing.

Funny, I did the sames thing. But, I did it with the nut with the nylon end on my K&N kit. I went to Home Depot. They have an entire wall of nuts and bolts. I would think they would have the screw with the torx head there.

The Torx head is irrelevant. If it were me, I'd hie myself to the nearest Ace Hardware store with the surviving bolt in my hand and buy two stainless steel Phillips head screws of the right size, install them, and never think about it again.

When I installed my Pilo intake last weekend, my 3 year old son tossed those screws down into the front air dam when I wasn't looking. I had to take the thing apart to get them out!

He also tossed the oil filler cap down there when I changed my oil. So, basically, every time I open the hood I have to be prepared to take the air dam apart to get out whatever parts he might throw down there. (By the way, it's held together with phillips-head screws and 10 mm bolts.)

Toddlers are such great helpers!

I have a madness intake that I purchased used from Tim! Thanks, Tim! Because it was used it didn't have a hose clamp. I went to Kragens this morning and spent $2.99 and got two sewer pipe clamps(that's what it said on the package).

I used a steel screw that has a little pointed end. It was just a tad longer but the threads were perfect. I think I will head to the hardware store since I am going to buy some of that gutter fence material for the hood scoop. The only reason why I am going to replace the screw is that our Coop is one month old.

BTW, is it the placebo effect or do I have better throttle response?

You have better throttle response because of less restriction in the intake. Sorry about the hose clamp...be sure to spray on some oil from the kit I included. I cleaned it but didn't oil it before it shipped.

I forgot to spray it! hahah..I'll do that tonight. Don't apologize for the hose clamp...it was oversight on my part. I thought the stock clamp was reusable...and if it is I don't have the correct tool to clamp it back. Much cheaper to buy a regular hose clamp and now, I have a spare!

It is..I've only driven it about 5 miles and I can feel the difference. I thought it was just the shoes I was wearing that gave it that additional response.

Now, Pulley time??

The first night I had the MINI home, I had the engine up and was turning wrenches until the wee hours of the morning. My 15% went on that night with less than 100 miles on the ticker!

I thought the "break-in period" was 12 miles....then I found out it was 1200 miles!! j/k
