Drivetrain N14 + Brisk plugs= misfire?
N14 + Brisk plugs= misfire?
Has anyone with an N14 R56S successfully ran Brisk silver plugs without a CEL?
I have been running Brisk MR12S plugs in my 2010 R56S, and I get misfire codes and CELs every damn Thursday. Any insight would be appreciated.

First why are you running Brisk plugs in an N14 engine?
Even with Manic tunes mostly use NGK plugs a step colder than the OEM MCS NGK plugs.

Well, it doesn't look like I am going to run them much longer.
As for why Brisk silver over an Irridium plug? Irridium is a terrible electric conductor and heat disipator. Those are some pretty important things I think a spark plug should do well. Irridium plugs are for long service intervals, not performance. I ran Brisks in both my tuned honda J30a1 Accord and my 02 Subie WRX for 25,000 mile or longer intervals. I'd be surprised if I had more than 1,200 miles on these.
Anyone suggest another non-Irridium plug? I have nothing against NGK plugs, I'd just prefer a copper plug.

Even Manic Tunes run the NGK ILKR8E6 plugs on Stage 2+ tunes because they perform so well.

I've been running Brisk plugs for over a year. However, my plugs are copper not silver. I ran them for about 2 months on standard COP's and then I upgraded my COP's to IP. Also with no problems.
Thanks System Lord, I'll seek out a set of the colder ones to see how they run. My last Iridiums are in the pneumatic cleaner back in the shop, I'm going to slap them back at the end of my shift.
Grizld- what is the part # for those coppers you have been running??

I ran them, QR12LS.
fine but only lasted 5k before misfire. Extreme heat rounded the centers. Not the plugs fault.
I have another but different set of Brisk now. Much cooler but not silvers.
I have "HEARD" the NGK insulators have a tendency to crack running higher boost i.e. 25psi but have not had it happen to me.
I like the idea of silvers and NOT iridium. I might go back and try again as I've made some improvements. Bigger better FMIC.
Pull the plugs and take a look although I would trust WMW. Try a smaller gap if the centers look good.
Any chance carbon issue on valves or bad coil? Need to scan and see which cylinders are misfiring and perhaps do the coil/plug swapping routine.

Wow, back here after several failed attempts to use NGK; failure after failure with NGK.
The "tech" folks there were useless. In fact the last 2 recommended plugs were complete misfire havens. I'm going back with Brisk.
Yes, I do run a Manic 3+ plus and the NGK melted so fast.
In addition, I felt better throttle response and power with the Brisk.
Next in line were the Denso plugs.

I had the iridium plugs in with manic stage 2+ for 6k miles. I was at the dyno testing my new Owens turbo and I swapped to brisk silver after 4 pulls and saw maybe 2hp in the middle of the pull . Top end was the same.
I do have IP coils.
I gapped the brisk plugs to 24 , I wanted to play with the gap but I will wait till I get my stage 3+
PS. Owens is a beast ( more to come on that)
