Turbo sound through exhaust

hey guys So I got a 2011 r56 manic stage 2+ with all supporting mods

my exhaust consists of catless downpipe to stock exhaust. I am basically wondering if I can get more turbo whistle? the other day at work there was a focus st with the cat and resonator deleted and you could hear the turbo spool up a bit through the exhaust I also noticed it a bit in my 2015 f56 loaner car. would an aftermarket exhaust help? any suggestions? thanks guys

Anything that's less restrictive on the turbo will open it up to louder sounds. Doing a full exhaust will help as well as an intake.

and an exhaust that deletes the cat and resonator will make a huge difference. I have the stock down pipe, with a Stratmosphere exhaust that deletes the 2nd cat and resonator, and the turbo sounds awesome. A cat-less DP would probably put it over the edge in noise for me as far as DD is concerned. The Forge hose made a huge difference in turbo noise.

I have a similar setup to yours. Catless dp - stock exhaust - no muffler sounds good to me. I imagine your plan would be similar, probably a tad quieter? As for turbo spool its still pretty quiet. Our turbos are pretty quiet little buggers, a full straight pipe will likely get you the spool sound you want at the cost of an obnoxious exhaust.

ya friend of mine had straight pipe but stock dowbpipe and you were able to hear it from behind the car just afraid of how loud it'd be with no cat at all lol not really into the 16 year old rice car if you know what I mean

THE GFB diverter actually reduces the noise some. It did on my R56 and was mentioned it does in their writeup. I'm not sure if that has differed on the newer engines though.

What i was getting at is it reduces the blowoff sound more. I love the unit, but if you're looking for more "spool" sound / blowoff, this is going in the wrong direction. I wouldn't change it for anything though.

Yup. Removing the cats makes a huge difference. Also in the backfiring. It gets louder! Sounds sick

Yea, intake will do it , Our ECS CF CAI is louder then stock, you can hear it pretty good for a closed intake as the acoustics of the CF box bounces the sound around.

A Forge BO adapter will get you more feedback sound and that swoosh noise under the hood on top of the intake noise.

Pair it with a high flow cat and/or Milltek exhaust and it will sound really good.
