Water to air intercooler by FMD

Ok I wanted to post some numbers for everyone. I have installed a dual temp gauge, probes are at charge side, out of super charger, and inlet side, after intercooler. I was unable to get to the track this week due to a rain stom the day I had planned. I did however get to a dyno. During the dyno runs (3) we saw charge temps of 250 degrees F and inlet temps, after intercooler, of 120 degrees F. This was on all three runs, full redline runs. The dyno shop we used is in Parker, Colorado called Mac autosports. www.macautosport.com The guys there were impressed with the intercooler and will confirm these numbers. I laid down an average of 200 HP at the wheels corrected.

To give you all a reference point I have the following mods on my car: Rogue intake, header, 19% pulley, FMD water to air intercooler, lightweight flywheel, stage 2 racing clutch, salsbury LSD, and ECU remap.

Thanks for the numbers.

This makes me think of a related concern.
For a water to air intercooler.
How does the ambient temperature affect the efficiency of the intercooler compared to the air to air intercooler?

For example in a very hot environment like 100 degrees + would the water to air be more efficient at lower speeds like on the street or at autocross and the air to air more efficient at high speeds like on a track?

Then at lower temperatures say 70 degrees would it be any different or at 40 degrees any difference between the two? This concerns the ability for the air to air intercooler to succeed in creating a big difference in air temps vs the water to air.

mars31971,
How much was the install for your IC? How much larger than stock is it?
What is the maintenance recommended for it? Got any pictures showing the placement of the additional radiator for the system?

The ambient temp on these runs were 88 F on the first 2 and 90 F on the last run. The starting temp of the inlet side , after IC, was 10 degrees above ambient.

Ibelieve there are pics of the additional radiators in the first thread on this IC. Labor is approx. 4 hours. The system weighs about 16lbs. with liquid. There is no maintainance needed on the IC.

Here are a couple pics of the dyno runs and the intercooler.

Was the EvoTech specially done for the 19% pulley? i.e. custom programming, lowered rev limiter....

No it was not custom and the rev. limiter is at 7200 RPM's. I have had no problems with this programing and the 19% pulley. If you look at the dyno sheets you can see the curve is right on. The air/feul is also right on as well. With the intercooler keeping the air temp down there is no problem using the 19% pulley.
