Intakes should not cause any warranty issues, unless your dealer is really hard to deal with. MINI would have to assert and prove that the aftermarket intake caused whatever the failure or problem was. I can't imagine an intake causing any problems unless you never cleaned the filter or left the filter off or something crazy like that.

How significant is the difference in performance between the green drop-in filter
and the cold air intake? I have the first one and did notice a significant
improvement.

I went from a green drop in to the Pilo Racing filter when I got the first prototype back, and felt the difference which is about the same as the paper filter to the green filter.

Just to let people know that all orders from now plus the 2 orders that I have recieved (I will contact those who are effected) will be shipped on tuesday or wednesday because of such unexpected demand. Thanks to every one who has placed there order.

OK, so I figure I'd post another question about the intake I bought already.

1. Do I worry about rain/snow?? I know a wet engine is not a happy engine.

2. Do I put the stock intake back on in the winter? Basically, how cold is TOO cold??

Thanks loads

Regarding Water, As long as you keep the plastic that is infront of the intake intact, there will be no issues with water. I have been driving it in the worst weather here in NJ with out a problem.

Regarding the Cold, The colder the better. The engine will not have problems with air that is to cold. It will be heated up anyway's from the supercharger before it goes to the engine, so that is why you would want it as cold as possible.

Lastly, the intake is made out of 100" Stainless Steel, so the weather is not a concern in that aspect either.

Thanks
Dan
Pilo Racing.

P.S. Keep an Eye out for some new product releases of products that do not exist on the market yet, by any company!

Dan/Miniplo,
What plastic are you refering to? Are you not recommending Randy's air box mod, or are you refering to something else?

In Terms of performance I think that the airbox mod is great. I just have chosen to not do this on my car, as I am not 100% positive that the filter will stay dry. I know that there are people running this with no problem. I just have not tested it myself, and can't guarentee myself that it will stay dry.

Thanks
Dan

Just installed my special deal Pilo and have a question. Have any of you come up with a way to make the battery terminal fit tighter on the Pilo Intake? Otherwise the install looks great, but i think the battery terminal hook could use some work to keep it from hanging loose as it currently does. Thanks for any ideas you have.

The connection though loose, will not cause a problem with either rattling, or with excess wear. I have had mine on my car for about 10 K miles, and have not had a problem with either noise, or wear. If you do feel that it is a problem, You can use a small piece of slit hose, and insert it between the terminal, and the U-Bracket.

Thanks

As of tomorrow, All of the MCS intakes will have been shipped. You will recieve an e-mail the night of the shipment with your tracking info. Contact me if you have any questions.

Today, the Fedex office could not believe how many packages I pulled out of my tiny little Mini. They said it looked I was unloading from a clown car, it just didn't stop!..

Thanks
Dan
