Drivetrain Pilo Racing Sale on MCS Cold Air Intake Starts Tonight!
I have to say I am impressed with the results of my new Pilo. The car is smoother and more responsive in the low rpm range and so far seems to stuble a little less dramatically. We'll see tomorrow on a cold start what happens, but so far this was money well spent. Thanks again to the guys at Pilo for a good deal.
>>I'm scheduled to receive my intake tomorrow......have come across a thread questioning whether various intakes will pass emissions tests? What about the Pilo?
>>
There was a recent thread about a person passing (strict) California smog check with many mods. The only change he did was put the stock airbox back on. After you do the install once, it takes you literally 2-5 minutes to switch back and forth and i believe it's worth it if you want to ensure your car passes smog.

Installed my intake today and.......wow! The engine is more throaty, the whine above 4K rpm's is fuller (I already had a green drop-in filter), accelleration is
steadier, the engine is smoother especially at lower rpm's. I still have a bit of a yo-yo between 1st-2nd gears, but it's very minimal most of the time and often not there at all. I enjoy driving my '02 MCS even more than before. This is really alot of
bang for buck....I'm a happy camper. Thanks, Pilo!
Also, I live in PA where emission inspections are yearly. I can easily put my drop-in
filter back for a day if I have to......no big deal.

I installed my new pilo racing intake on Thursday, and I would like say that I was really impressed with the quality of all the pieces.
The install went really easy, as there is only 4 screws and 1 clamp.
The intake looks good and it adds more personality to my mini. It also seems to have smoothed the throttle response at low revs. As for ultimate power I don't know, but it does feel better.
Thank You, Dan.
You've made a great piece.

^ Why don't you either PM Dan...or better yet, email him directly. Or even better than that, check the FedEx email that provided you with the ship date, tracking number, and anticipated delivery date. I got one of those and it was right on the money for delivery date.
As I am based in NJ, the people in Cali take a bit longer. What PM me your name and mailing city, and I'll give you the tracking info. The last Intakes look like they will be delivered tomorrow from my tracking info.
Let me know
Thanks

Count me on a second one, for my new Mini.
What's the sound like on the Pilo compared to, say, an Alta? General concensus is that the Alta produces the sweetest supercharger sound. It seems like the difference in gains between intakes are close enough to make the decision hinge more on asthetics (sound) and price than performance.

You just drill holes in the plastic wall by the crowl space and you get that noise,
from what i read... not much more gain, but the fun factor is increased for those
that like their wine with their thrust.

Or is that just me?
I'd be happy with just a sale on the standard-issue intake.

The cowl mod is up on Randy's site. Or you can buy it at Mini-Madness for $39.00 http://www.mini-madness.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=174
