I installed my Milltek cat-back this morning on my new '04 MCS. I got the new inboard hanger adapters from Stratmosphere and they work great. I could have used just the outboard hangers as others have done but I feel better that I had the inboards as well. The install took about 2 hours and other than my daughter helping me with the rear section of the Milltek system, did it solo. The sound is a little louder than stock but it is a much smoother sound (not as raspy). Still not sure about the sound overall, with the windows open I can't really tell the difference from stock, but with the windows closed there seems to be a lot of resonance in the cabin, especially at lower rpm's.

Low end torque is improved, between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm's. Not sure about the higher range as the car is still in break-in mode.

Overall, I'm very happy with the exhaust. The sound is great, and driveability is improved, especially pulling out of slow corners in 2nd or 3rd gear.

Nice! Milltek does provide a deeper authoritative roar relative to the OEM, but with a little more volume which is perfect for me.

nice! Which intake are you going with? I got the Pilo intake and
works great. I might change to a K&N cone filter after the Green
filter gets dirty.

The Pilo intake even comes with a cleaning kit though!

Thanks for the post!! Sounds exactally like what I want.

I have the intake, pulley, throttle body, and am getting the Milltek catback on the weekend of the 22/23 along with the Unichip ECU, stage one brake kit, H-Sport springs, and rear sway bar, and Intercooler diverter. )

I'm getting the Alta intake, also have a Unichip on the way. That will be it for awhile and should make for some nice driving.

And for those who are wondering... I have no intention of doing any dynos. I don't care what the numbers say, but I do care about the additional enjoyment I get from doing these fairly simple mods. I can feel the difference and that's all that matters to me.

gt6- your car's going to be pretty much set-up like mine. I/E/UNIchip.
Im going to get the SSR comps next...still saving up... need to go another
10 biz trips or so to finish accumulating my allowance. j/k

Anyway, I agree with your comment below. I am exactly the same way.
If you can't feel the difference, who cares how much it says on the dyno
plots. btw, when you get the Unichip let the ECU adjust to your car
about 5-6 runs. It seems like on my car the response have
become a little better up high after a few runs. It wasn't an eye opening
increase on my car, but you may perhaps feel more if you have
v36+ factory map.

You are all making me jealous/anxious.

On May 23 I'm getting the 15% pulley, Milltek exhaust, and Unichip.

I can't wait to see how it drives.

With a CAI, you'll have the perfect setup!

Hey, I have an 8:00 a.m. apt. with Steve at Steve's Auto Clinic on the 23rd. Will I see you there?? I am getting stuff from the Dreaded Randy Webb (Ok heck probably started something again).

Unichip, Milltek catback, H-sport springs and rear swaybar, and stage 1 brake kit.

Probably won't see you - I've got the 3:30 slot. I hope Randy is still alive and kicking.

gt6 - I put the Milltek on about 2-weeks ago ... I also couldn't tell much of a difference in sound until the 3rd or 4th day (about 400 miles). The exhaust is much deeper but still not obtrusive. Between the whine of the supercharger (very noticable with the CAI) and the growl of the exhaust my car sounds alot better (I also don't care about dyno results).
The one improvement I can attest to is the feel when accelerating - with the OEM setup I felt the car wasn't getting enough air. Now there's no problem at all!
