I’ve just done the same and I’m waiting on the programming bits / injectors arriving.

for reference, the VAG / BAM 225hp engine uses Bosch part number 0280156063

They run fine. They’re the right size and have the same connection as the originals, so you don’t need to fit pigtail adaptors to the wiring loom

They're running great in my car as well. My car had the 2003 JCW kit which didn't include the airbox or injectors. Since I added both of those, I recently installed a facelift ECU with the 210 tune. A really good upgrade.

Yes, it's the factory tune and is plug & play. Literally, I dropped in the new ECU, the car started right up and ran like a champ. I don't know about the immobilizer but I suspect it is disabled. Based on how I use my car, it doesn't matter to me. MrBlah (NAM user name) is my dealer for this particular bit of crack. You can check with him. In my opinion, it's well worth it.

so you still needed the tune flashed onto an ECU? I guess I'm asking if you just bought an ECU off wrecker/ebay and dropped it into your car (sounds like MrBlah) flashed it for you. How much for reflash?

I wouldn't say I needed the tune but rather that I wanted it. My 2003 has the JCW kit. At that time, the kit did not include the airbox or 380cc injectors and the tune was 200 hp. Once I added the airbox and injectors that appeared in the later kit, I thought I might as well get the tune that went with that kit.

Yes, my new ECU is the work of MrBlah. Very straightforward transaction.
