Drivetrain BMS Clutch Stop
My stop had 5 metal washer/shims. I installed my stop with 4 metal washers. Man does it feel much more natural! I found myself in the month prior to getting this, not pressing the pedal all the way down out of sheer fatigue. I gets tiring when pressing the pedal down for what seems to be forever before hitting the stop. Now with the stop in place, it feels perfect. It stops exactly where I had been stopping myself. One more thing I don't have to think about. I can further enjoy my motoring experience!
Got mine in the mail today and popped it in this evening. Took less than a minute to install. Based on the reviews, I went with two washers. Can't wait to get it out and test it tomorrow!
BTW....."EXCELLENT" service from BMS. I literally ordered this at 11:00am on Monday and it was in my mailbox by 4pm two days later!

Just installed mine today. Crazy how such a little thing can make a huge difference!
I'm using just 2 shims. Had an issue with the old stop (broke off inside). Took a small spike and moved the butt of the old one aside and the BMS popped right in.

I love this thing. I've actually considered trying to get my hands on a spare pedal assembly to cut and weld the pedal to sit lower to address all the extra travel. Still might, since this doesn't address how the pedal's still a high off the floor board when the clutch is disengaged (pedal down), but it's a much less urgent concern now.
Not really much to it, but for $10 shipped it's not worth trying to "roll your own" stop replacement. Wish I'd known about this years ago!

I know it's an old thread but it's an important one.
Just installed this yesterday before the football games started and went for a drive. I left all 3 shims in. lol. Stalled it twice backing out of my garage. It is amazing. Took me about the length of my development to "tune" my left foot to get it just right. I might pull one shim out but I'm gonna see how it is in traffic today going to work.
The simplest things always seem to be the best in life. Like a good burger and fries.
Nice product BMS. 👍👍

Sent from cellular device.
Yeah. I went down to 2 after 2 days of driving with 3. I wish there was a 2.5. I guess I could put a few flat washers between the 2 remaining rings to fine tune it.
2 seems to get the job done nicely.

Did anyone else have to cut the post in half? I beat up my knuckles for 5 minutes trying to get it in, but it just wouldn't go past halfway. Maybe it's a countryman thing?
Anyway, I installed it with 2 shims. I thought about trying 3, but 2 seems perfect so I'll probably leave it.

Came here to second this on the Countryman (2015) Post needed to be cut in half to sit flush, 2 shims.
Now it just goes in to gear, much more in tune with my natural clutch movement and seat position now.
Anyone have issues after installing? Swapped mine out yesterday, 2 shims, but it sits at an odd angle & the pedal still goes all the way down. I'm thinking operator error on the install details but thought I'd ask.
Did you use anything to push it in? I don't remember what I used, but I had somthing solid that I used to help push it in all the way, I just didn't have the POWER to push it in with just my hands.
Did you cut the post?! I couldn't for the life of me push it in with the full post, and it sat at a weird angle...
Grizld700: Mine was a pain as well, but got it in. I tried getting it in some more and might have moved it another notch or two, it's a little straighter. But I might have to pull it out anyway as I think I'm going to try all 3. 2 still has it dropping a ways. So I might see about clipping it then and using something to help ensure it's in all the way.
Thanks for the input!
If need be, cutting the end won't hurt anything. Also be careful I've seen some not start when they had too many shims in, as it caused the pedal to not travel enough for the clutch pedal sensor to see the clutch has been depressed far enough to start the car. If not, then take the extra one out of course.
I was considering doing this. It tried to bend at the mid-point and made it more difficult than probably necessary. I might still do it.
