BMS Clutch Stop

Hey guys,

I'm sure many are already running other options. But for those that aren't the BMS adjustable clutch stop fits nicely. Makes fast shifting easier and improves the overall feel banging through the gears. Well worth the $10 shipped price tag and 20 second install time.

This is the first I have seen. I think it's a great idea. The clutch travel seems to much and it really only engages in the fist few inches of travel. Is there any harm in using this? What needs to be done to ensure full engagement/disengagement of the clutch but st the stop to as short as possible?

Edit, I just looked and I don't see anything that looks like a stop for the clutch....

That part says it's for BMW's. Well it for the R56?

If you peek under there you'll find a thin rubber stop you pull out. Then you push ours in. I'm running it at full height and clutch engagement is perfect. Your mileage may vary. Let me know which setting works best for you.

32,828 miles and I used all 3 spacers with no problems works great travel feels like good and combined with a craven speed short shifter my shift time has gone down again!! Not by much but every second counts!!!

Switched it from 3 shims to 2 shims this morning and actually prefer it a bit. I'd suggest 2 shims.

We're pretty confident it will but have not tested it yet. Worst case you can return it if it doesn't fit.

I would say yes but look under your dash where your clutch pedal goes to the firewall, there should be a small rubber plug if that's there then yes. You pull the rubber one out and pop the BMS one in place using the rubber shims to get a distance you like. I was using 3 but 2 actually seems to work better

I just installed this on my 2012 Countryman S and it fits perfectly.

I did a quick test drive with 3 installed and it definitely removes the extra play in the clutch but 3 didn't feel right to me. It felt like it was too short and that i was jamming it to the floor. I went home and pulled it out (this sucked a bit), changed it to 2, and went for a second test drive. Two feels perfect for me. Im not sure if this is just preference or because I'm a taller driver at 6'2.

Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase. It arrived very quickly, makes shifting so much smoother, and faster. Thank You!

3 shims working well for me. At first seemed to short, but then I got used it to very quickly.

Purchased/Installed/Test drove/ and love it.

Easy to adapt to, and noticeably changes pedal travel.

Spend the $10, no regrets here

Installed today. 3 shims good for me. It seems to make heel and to a little smoother/ easier for me with the different clutch pedal travel. My only complaint is the time it took to install...10 seconds is too quick for something that feels this good. I wanna feel like I earned it!

Hello Terry
I posted a question about clutch travel in Mini General now have found this. Will this work for 06 R52 Convertible?
Massive clutch travel is driving mad have learned to compensate but not consistent.
Glad to see I am not the only one with this issue

Good question, how many millimeters of travel does this actually eliminate with 3 shims?

The device itself is about 2cm to my recollection. The stop itself is not placed at the very end of the clutch pedal (lever) so it impedes travel slightly more than that. Anecdotally, I'd say it feels like the pedal travels about 1-2 inches less.

I'll probably order this when the JB+ comes out because for $10, why not.

On reassessment, it feels closer to 1 inch of travel, rather than 2 inches.

Ya, I sorta rigged a ghetto version. It surprisingly makes a fair amount of difference. Not sure how long mine will last though. If it does I'll place my order for one. Pretty good pedal feel

Clutch Stop

I know I am not supposed to talk to you guys any more since i am first generation but got my stop yesterday and could only use one shim but makes a remarkable difference. However be very careful trying to remove if you need to add or remove shims. At least on an 06 R52.
Thanks for the tip see in first Gen with the GRAY's!!!
