Larger OEM Intercooler - JCW R60

Interesting post over on the Countryman forums. Someone with an R60 JCW said his MINI came with a larger than normal OEM FMIC. He said it has plastic end caps, but is much larger than the standard FMIC. His measured dimensions are:

11" high
23" wide
2" thick

R60 JCW part number: 17517632764
R60/R56 Cooper S is 17512751277

Thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-question.html

There aren't a lot of details, but I thought some of you with non-R60s may be interested in a factory part vs aftermarket. I may have gotten one instead of the Helix if I had known about it. Can't say for sure about fitment on a non-R60, but it's an interesting development.

You do realize this is the Hardtop section, right?

Obviously he does. He was pointing out that it might be able to fit our cars as a factory replacement, instead of buying aftermarket. But that would of required reading to figure out

I believe mine has plastic end tanks as well. But good find!

From the thread.

I am not sure that will fit. Some one who is near one should do a test fit.

Also at $298 on Realoem without a dealer mark up you might as well just go aftermarket unless you are one of those die hard "my warranty" people.

Actually, this is the 2nd Gen section, which includes more than hardtops.

The hardtop is the only one that matters.
