What does everyone think of this Intercooler?

http://www.outmotoring.com/product.p...55&cat=&page=1

Hi all,

I'm gonna be shopping soon sometime in February for a intercooler, and I really am digging the one above in the link. It seems a good product! I was essentially gonna go with Helix but now I don't know between those two.

Your thoughts?

It looks exactly like my Forge FMIC. So I say it's probably pretty good.

Doesn't seem as "deep" as the Forge or the Helix (could be me... I'm old). No info on build materials, etc. The claim of 20hp raises an eyebrow. I would go with a more established name.

That's what I figured. I like trying new things so I thought I'd give it a chance but I think I will stick with Helix then.

I've had a Helix and I've had a Forge FMIC. Both are good units, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd go with Helix, because it's a bit easier to install that a Forge unit. Takes me about 30mins to do the install now.

Either way, I'm gonna get an Evolve FMIC next :D

That is def a copy of the forge. Why risk it to save some money and get the original Forge FMIC we actually have them on sale right now for cheaper than that.

I agree, the lower part doesn't seem as 'deep' as the Forge. But it could possibly be the angle of the photo.

I wouldn't doubt that 20 hp, especially after several hard runs when the stock IC is heat soaked to death.

But I'm not a big fan of knock off products. It really discourages people being inovative, when somebody steals their idea or product...

yeah, but you're not "gaining" 20whp, as indicated in the description. you're just not losing the 20whp you would if the small-ish stock fmic were to be heat soaked.

If you look at back to back dynos, it would sure look like a 20 hp gain on the 4th or so pull.

But yea, by itself, you aren't gaining anything.

What I was trying to achieve is what everyone thought of the Mars I/C. But either way I planned to stick with Helix cause I hear great reviews about them!

Rob, I think most of us are saying that we have no idea what it is and would go with an established brand, fearing a cheaply made knock-off.

Yeah I totally agree, that's why I'm still sticking with helix. But I was looking for information on the Mars product to see what others knew but seems like it's too new to figure out the specs on it.

I have installed a few helix intercoolers, no other brand fits as well the first time in my book.
