Customized Canned Tuned now available for FA53 Customers!

We are now offering a new service to current or new FA53 customers. For those who do not want to subscribe to the CRM service and having to install an Innovate AFR kit, this could be the solution for you.

$100 Service Fee = Customized canned tune for your R53 that meet the following guidelines.
  • Must have FullAccess FA53 loaded on your current ECU.
  • Only available if the Bosch 550cc are purchased from Bytetronik.
  • Required ONE (1) Full set of FA data logs from your Mini once FA53 is loaded onto the ECU.
  • AFR logging is NOT required (thus why this is dubbed a CANNED tune).
  • This tune will remained UNLOCKED! (so owner and end user can make modification to this tune).
  • Water-Meth is NOT supported by this service (Our CRM service is available for W/M)
Email us at "info@bytetronik.com" should you have any questions.

Question...

So on the FA53 on the MIL Status... selecting those and turning certain ones to OFF will prevent the MIL from coming on for those particular codes?

Will it effect the way the ECU operates or change any other parameters?

The reason that I ask is because I have a colder thermostat so if I don't allow my car to warm-up long enough, it throws me a P0128. Sometimes I ignore my MIL because I think it is the P0128 code when there's always a possibility that it's something else.

I'd say it only affects the check engine light, like it says in the description...

Good, cause that **** is annoying...

I guess what my main question is... does that specific MIL change anything... like does it throw it into Open-Loop or modify any other parameters?

I don't think so. But why do you think you need a colder thermostat?

was the bytronic update for later ecus ever completed? I'm about to pull the trigger on either a ecumaster black or a bytronic full access for my 2006 jcw track car. I'm running a PH3 cam that I'm told is hard to work with on the siemens ecu. I am not interested in locked maps so the pay for mapping service is of no use to me as I understand those maps are locked.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that update. They said it would be out in couple of months, but that was 14 months ago... I work in software testing, and this certainly isn't the first time I've seen a deadline is being pushed forward, but it does show that their focus is clearly on other things.

It's never a good idea to copy a custom map from another car.

I would downvote this if I could, this is standard practice, just did it last night on my n54 bmw, copied a tune from car with same mods and started from there, tunerpro makes it easy to diff the two and copy all the changes

Anyone have problems getting data to download to the MiniPort? I can't seem to get any downloads when going through the sequence of inserting into the OBD, making a run and then loading into my computer. My tuner had the same problem. I changed the MicroSD card and still no data??

No problems here with mine, and I'm constantly downloading/uploading

Will this tool clear codes and log all the sensors available on the motor?

I use HP Tuners on the Ram and it covers it adequately, looking for the same for the new to me Mini.

Using a custom map as a base, and doing your own tuning on top of that is a bit different than just copying a map and using it as such. I was referring to the latter with my comment.

You mean you're not getting any log files? Are the triggers set correctly in the logcfg.txt file on the SD card?

Correct. When I make a run and then connect to my computer the Mini Port file is empty. Tried it on two computers and no file. My tuner was having the same problem. Tried two new SD cards. Mini Port is down in Texas getting a look over by the BT guys.

Sounds like its not logging the data. So when you plug in the OBD cable the lights don't come on and start flashing rapidly indicating its saving a logged run? Well at least it's in their hands now to fix up.

Yes it will. Able to read codes and clear codes, reset adaptions etc. Can log many parameters at a very high refresh rate to. Just need to add the innovate wideband kit to add the afr logging to the system as an add on.

When I plug it in the lights do start their sequence.
That’s what is strange.

Yea that is strange. Must be a fault in the unit not writing the logged parameters to the card if multiple cards are showing up empty.

I want to run a 180* t-stat, am I able to set thresholds with FA to compensate for that state before a CE light goes on?
