R50 JCW tuning kit #522. No need to explain how rare this kit is. I know of only 2 other minis in the US with this kit. I purchased this kit from a forum member and my wife was kind enough to total my mini before installing it. I have been told that the heads are comparable but that would be it. Even so, it would be a bloody shame for this to get all broken up and used for bits and pieces. Guys this is an ORIGINAL R50 JCW tuning kit with ALL documentation. Complete except for exhaust. It needs to go to an R50 owner that wants something special.

You must've snagged this from blackbomber. I had contacted him about sometime after you had already gotten it from him. Wish I could justify the purchase, but not this year...

I did get it from blackbomber. I was so excited about putting the R50 JCW kit on and then the weekend before she got totaled. I know it was just an R50 but that was the best car I have ever owned. The kit is suuuuuper rare and I know it would turn anyone's mini into a real one of a kind. It's still in the same packaging as it was when blackbomber sent it to me. I dare you to find another one for sale in the USA. I searched for years to find one and I was so close to making it happen. Thanks for your condolences.

 

Definitely a rare one with the badges, although I think the head alone is still relatively available.

 

It is if your ok spending 2500 for it . That was the last price I was quoted from BMW about 2 yrs ago. It's prolly more now. Atleast with this you get ALL badges and ALL documentation unmolested. At 1500 I honestly feel like its a steal. I'm seriously thinking of buying another R50 just to install the kit. I just have to many damn cars right now and my wife and I are in the process of a move. Curious, how does this differ from the R50 JCW Sound Kit?

Would love to see one of these installed into a nice R50 with JCW body kit. That would be a brilliant little car to own. Hope the right buyer comes along.

 

I think the Sound Kit was just an intake and exhaust, while this is the cylinder head and an ECU tune (and originally, the exhaust as well.)

It's tempting, but I've put too much money into this car already. I promised myself I'd quit!

Bumping it to the top guys and gals. I've had a lot if interest from R53 owners wanting the head but I would prefer to sell it to a die hard R50 owner. Pick it up guys and be the only person you know with this kit!!!! If your R50 head has worn out valves or valve stem seals this would be a perfect replacment!!!! Cheaper than a new head!

If the kit is still available, I'll buy it ASAP! Btw, I have a 2003 R50 indi blue planning to JCW the whole thing. I started to take public trans and garage the mini so i can save up to jcw everything! Believe me when I tell you I'm die hard and committed!

Cool! Did you have luck finding a JCW body kit? I saw one on an R50 recently. Definitely a rare sight.

 

Not yet :( I'm prioritizing my JCW purchases by rarity. I have the JCW Cylinder head, JCW suspension kit and my next purchase is going to be the JCW sound kit. After that i'll be looking at the Aero kit but I kind of find the hard is to find a shop that knows what they're doing when using the gray touch up to match the rest of the gray body parts.

 

Especially since the 1st Gen Aero Kit is not a JCW part
