I too am very pleased with the customer service Colin provided. The VT mount is an outstanding unit. Just give Colin a try.

Anyone know where to procure these in the States?
Found the receipt for the one installed last summer. It was Aug 2nd and it has 3,300 miles on it. I wonder if it's a record for the lowest miles on the OE mount.

Ordering the VT mount since the R53 is a keeper.

Yes they are different, and Yes their is a replacement.
For you to have killed one that fast it leads me to think that your lower mount is potentially also trashed.
id check the webbing for tears.

Thanks Collin, I will do that.
I found replacement instructions in another thread and it seems like it can be done with one special tool, and a little common sense. I usually do fluid and brake changes myself, did shocks on a Jeep GC once, so I'm tempted to tackle this on my own. Thoughts on DIY?

I replaced mine when I changed out my pulley and it was not too hard to do. I bought mine from Pelican Parts pretty cheap and have not had any problems so far. I only have like 2000 miles on it.

Installed the Vibra-Technics mount today. Took the GP out for about 50 miles and I really feel a positive difference in responsiveness. Might be in my head though The vibration at idle is slightly noticeable but no problem for me. After all, I'm mostly on the gas. I would recommend it as a positive alternative to stock. Nice looking too.

Vibra Technics engine mount sources in the US

to all -

Like previous posters, I turned 78k miles on my 04 MCS and noticed that my right engine mount is leaking fluid. I am looking for a U.S. source of the Vibra Technics engine mount. Does anyone have any recommendation on where I can get this besides the VibraTechnics website??? I am located in northern Virginia

Would appreciate any input...

PS - I have an email to ColinGreene, but have not received a response

I have just joined the leaky engine mount club (at 37k miles) and will be replacing mine with the Vibra Technics version as soon as Colin gets back to me (I sent a PM). Is there any detailed instructions on the installation?

It's not too hard to install. I remember seeing instructions for TSW mount and it goes on basically the same. Also check Pelican, they have instructions as well.

Lol. Pelican refers to Pelican Parts, which is a parts supplier selling Mini parts. Generally when I come across a word on this forum I don't get I Google it along with "Mini Cooper" and more often than not I get my answer.

Just got the OEM replacement Rein brand made in Spain from Pelican Parts today. It was 75 bucks or so so I figured I'll give it a shot since anymore vibrations and noises would just make me go crazy with the felt trying to find each and every rattle!!

Ill give this OEM a shot, see how long it lasts. If its not very long it's time to go aftermarket but if it lasts another 70k then at $75 I wouldn't be upset. Install is tomorrow

Thanks guys. I found the tech article at Pelican Parts. I am assuming that I will need to find an E12 Torx tool to complete this.

Yes you will, and a long'ish extension since its on the bottom of the frame rail and theirs plenty in the way. usually if its never been replaced its easy enough to get out with out taking the wheel and liner out.
just keep in mind brown oily goo will run down your tools and onto you as you pull the lower bolt.

Wish I had seen this thread earlier. I just replaced my second leaking motor mount. The VT one seems to be very well made & I'll buy it when my oem replacement dies. LOve the fact NVH seems well controlled. In comparison the TSW one looks like a cobbled together HS shop project to me, no thanks.

I recently switched my lower mount out to the VT and it is much much better than the stock mount with the powerflex poly inserts. I honestly thought the car was going to rattle itself apart eventually with the powerflex inserts. The VT is much smoother! Not to mention, it provides even less motor movement than the stock+powerflex, makes driving so much more enjoyable.

Finally received my Vibra Technics mount and tackled the install yesterday.
A few observations:
Had to move a small wiring bundle away from the mount so that the lateral mounting point could be obtained.
The VT mount is taller than the OEM by 1/4" - 1/2" neccessitating raising the engine higher to get the mount bracket to mate to the engine block.
After driving today I noticed vibration in the steering wheel and interior when at idle but the vibration at speed seems to have smoothed a little.
