Thanks guys. Mine is a daily driver, I might track it in the future. I might just go with the oem mount. That's what I did when I replaced the upper mount. Smooth, little vibration. Just what I want. I may consider the V/T mounts in the future.

for the uppers you'll get that chance to reconsider in about 20-30,000 miles, lol.

I purchased mine directly from Vibra Technics USA a few weeks ago for $225. Its an exceptionally made part. Took all of 20 min. to install. I have noticed no noticeable increase in vibrations. I would definitely recommend this part to anyone replacing the OEM mount.

Does anyone know if they make them for an 09 Clubman S JCW? My engine is getting replaced and well might as well look into changing them out while its out.

thanks

They don't. The failure problem is only with 1st generation MINI.

Bought the Vibra Technics for 02MCS, Took me longer to change, the dogbone is long and fixed i had to unbolt the right engine to frame bracket in order to maneuver the mount also the bottom frame hole is a little smaller (tight) which means the dogbone is fatter than the OEM bolts, and after the installation i felt the steering wheel vibrates now, my rear view mirror rattle, and more vibration on the engine. I will try to loosen all the bolts again tomorrow to make sure the engine sits properly.
BTW: i removed and inspected the lower engine mount and looks good no crack.

It's going to vibrate. It will lessen over time but will not be as smooth as stock. That's the trade-off, motor wiggle or not.

2002 Mini Motor Mount Damper Irregularity

Hi Folks;

I have a 2002 Mini Cooper Base Model, I am in the process of replacing the Front motor mount/Damper. Unlike most which attach to the frame via a 10/101mm Trox bolt, mine screws into the frame via a stud which is welded to the bottom of the mount. I cannot find another one any where. I am thinking of drilling out the threads in the top of the frame and then using the more common mount and a 10/110mm bolt. I do not know how much metal is at the top of the frame, but the bolt for the common mount will fit into the hole in the frame intended for the Torx head bolt. Any help?

Lew.
