What do you guys think of me adding a chrome or painted shield to the line up? Let me know what you think. Also What colors you'd like if painted.

I think that Chrome would be nice for people that are upgrading to chrome components under the hood.

Painted will be nice for people that are color coordinating there engine.

Let me know what you all think

they should be painted. chrome is nice but also $$$$ and i know you like to keep the costs down. i think a black power coat should be on it already. my 2 cents

Instead of painting it, how about putting some reflective heat insulation such as from http://www.designengineering.com/products.html This would make it really practical and might add some color to it.

If i get the Pilo intake, I am first going to spray it flat black using
engine paint before install.

I'm a form-follows-function guy and I like a tidy engine bay. I vote for black.

I have tried that stuff, and it really will not protect from heat soak, but would help if there was a fire that your intake filter will not burn  well, mabye not....

I am still looking into getting the intakes painted..

i would say chrome & painted... offer two varieties..... just to be different though. there is only one other chrome intake, and it is ***** for performance. (BMP). i know your intakes yield more power, and if it came with a "pretty" chrome shield, that would be great.

kenchan, that is what I used. Flat black high heat paint. Just to be safe, I didn't paint the outside or inside of the tube. I taped that section before I painted the flat part of teh shield. It may not have ever happened but I didn't want to run the chance that a chip of paint could be sucked into the engine.
