Aftermarket Air intake - Suggestions?

I am looking for a little more performance... any suggestions on air intakes?

Currently considering:
http://nm-eng.com/258/0/0/2607/nm658...ntake-kit.html
or
http://www.m7tuning.com/parts/produc...roducts_id=122

Any others I should consider?

If your looking for performance then get the new JCW tuning kit intake. Has a K&N filter, is shielded from heat, uses a some what cold air source and is factory.

If your you just want all the sound and BOV noise then go with what ever you think makes the engine bay look best.

1 Stock
2 Jcw
3 Dos
4 Ddm race

All the rest = loss of power

I was one of the first to have the dos on a r56 and loved everything about the product except for the noise.I find the stock airbox makes as much power on the dyno and has better lowend response and pulled as hard all the way to redline.

Dos has great customer service, average quality(had some casting imperfections with my unit and the optional butterfly baffle fell apart in days) and is a ok product but the noise is a dealbreaker for me(very hard to talk on phone or hear stereo).

Like I tell all of our customers, if you ever have an issue with any DoS part, drop us an email and we'll get you taken care of with advice and/or replacement parts as needed. We're more than happy to repair or replace the CAI noise baffle if you had issues with it, just send it back and we'll hook you up with what you need.

As for the noise, we offer a CAI cover for around town driving that you can remove for track days and MINI club events to allow for an additional source of cold air. With the cover in place, your interior noise levels are equivalent to the stock airbox.

Don't hesitate to PM or email us if you have any questions. We're here to make sure our customers are happy.

Best,

-Clint

I currently have the filter on the maf sensor. I am looking into making one that sits under the scoop and seals but we will see, I get a ton of compliments on the sound from the open element filter.

It is a 3 inch kn straight filter, I have had no issues so far ffom the filter. The only idle issue I have had was a result of one of my catch can fittings coming loose. Sorry I am not more help.
