all ready to get back to the track as soon as possible, there should be absolutely no reason the car won't run a 12 on the next time out.. I'll let you know when we plan on getting there again. Just put on the Zoomers exhaust and made a few other minor changes. The kits been running perfect and all is a go for sale

With 1 out of 2 in my house working as of two weeks ago it does not look like this will happen for me for a little bit. I will be glad to video for you so people who can purchase can get their fix. Let me know when you go to the track! Can do a few quick drive by blow off videos at the same time.
Yea I know I know its just a BOV and its the performance that counts but people like to hear it.. Its like supercharger whine..

Again, email me at hothatchpa@yahoo.com or pm and I will come video when you go..

Craig

That is the correct link to the site showvan. The problem is there's no info on the web for this conversion. The only info is what you're reading here

I emailed Hubie at SPI asking for info, he got right back to me with all the details as to price and what is included in the kit.

I have 400cc injectors now in my car, however the kit comes with 440cc.
hate to waste the money I paid for 400cc injectors.

Can we get some feed back from any one who have the kit???

It I think it should be mentioned I am sure Hubie and SPI Power Excel has a great product with this Turbo kit for the MINI and other projects he has done in the past. And he is the nicest guy. I have spoken with him on the phone.

I find that his Web site stinks, and he (Hubie) and or TWINCHRGDMINI is not here to promote this project. The last visit was Nov. 15.
There are customers waiting to find information about this turbo and others who have just will never find out.
If it wasn't for the help of El Diablito Rojo-N20Mini all would be lost for the past month on NAM.

Time to begin to promote turbo yourself and fix your web site or have someone do it for you. Just my thoughts.
And where is the Video.

USAMC - im with u 100%, Hubie seems like a good bloke and has answered all my initial questions thus far ( except for the last pm ).

But like others, i need to find more information about the TWCMCS, and be comfortable with what i know about it b4 i throw any money into the project - theres still too many unanswered questions.

I am sure he will be glad to answer your questions in time, he has been on the road to Cali to dyno my car and visit family. I will tell him to check his messages when I see him today.... Happy holidays

here is the first 2 dyno runs after driving 40miles in stop/go traffic

first run was made quite rich on purpose (safety)
second after leaning out (still could lean some more)

If you notice the dip after 5500rpms it's because the boost actuator on the turbo was opening up and only running 6lbs of boost from the turbo. I am only running a 6lb actuator (garrett experimental ) Normal is 11-12lb
the car was only running 19-20lbs of boost after 5500 rpm
Once we put a boost controller on the car to run a steady 23-24lbs it will run 300whp easily. I had the dealer put the stock software in which limited us on the RPM to under 7k. Adding another 500 rpm even with the boost loss would probably have gotten us to 290's.
We will be putting on a boost controller soon to make sure the actuator holds true to redline w/o bleeding off. We ran 3 back to back runs with heat soak and the car consistently pulled 270's. A true testiment to the kit's ability to put down the power. No doubt in my mind with the "normal" actuator we bust the 300 barrier at the wheels. It will be done on the next dyno run. Notice these are SAE real HP numbers...... no smoke and mirrors

Looks good, but I'd be careful about leaning it out any more than in the blue run. In fact, it looks like the wastegate opening at 5500 helped prevent an excessively lean condition. 20 psi and 13.5:1 A/F at 5500+ RPM could be scary. Was the boost the same in both runs?

yeah... we were disappointed it was bleeding the boost because 300whp was attainable... plus he said JLM will appreciate the SAE hp readings

as usual... he was right

there was no detonation and the fuel map will be adjusted again when we can get it to hold boost through the boost controller. We plan on running around 12:1 as it did from 5500+. Going to talk to Franz now for some custom fuel curves and 7500 rev limiter to clean up the software.

Glad to see you did make it, I told you those guys at DRS were good people. It looks like you were there till after 7:00pm.

Great numbers on the car for the first Dyno test. Once you get it tweaked I’m sure it will do 300HP or better.

Ignition upgrade?

Hello El D,
I was just looking at your engine bay pic, and I noticed that you have stock plug wires and a stock plug pack. Why have you chosen to not upgrade those? Im surprised because I thought the Mini would benefit from these upgrades. Please let me know why you decided not to upgrade.
Thanks,
Jm

so far there hasn't been a reason too. MSD is supposed to give me a prototype to try out. Still waiting.
