That's pretty sweet! Does it do it on every shift?

The more boost you have built up, the more noise you get when you release the throttle.

That's the difference in sound between a DV and a BOV. German cars use DVs and they don't go Phhhsssss...

That flutter was introduced to my car's ECU when Jan of RMW tuned my car the first time. As he described it to me, it is a MAP from the MINI Challenge racing car that he "lifted" and put on my car. He says that it creates a staggered turbo blow which keeps some back pressure thereby giving you more boost when you are quickly rowing through the gears.

Yup. New filter drawings were completed and submitted before Christmas. We're currently waiting on feedback from our filter manufacturer.

i meant to say that the rmw tune utilises the BPV control mapping from the challenge cars. The dealer will definitely not give you the same tune. I don't even know if they have it on file, as I heard that the Challenge tunes are hardwired in so their is no reflashing possible (for obvious reasons).

just get an RMW tune!

I'd love one, but that's easier said than done since the best way to get a tune is to be present with Jan and your car with a dyno...

So does that mean once I get the challenge mapping there is no going back?

I may be waiting a while then I'd like to live out most of my warranty first. I love that sound though.

No, I think you have to buy the challenge ECU, they don't actually have the software. That's what I meant by hardwired, you actually buy the ECU and it comes hardwired already.

@sooper cooper. You can remote tune at a dyno shop. Have a chat with Jan

Will do, thanks for the info. I've seen some of the recent numbers he's generating with his tunes.

MUST HAVE!

Got the HFS-3 from Jeff. I haven't installed it yet but I will soon. I have almost all my mods, I just need the RMW tune to get the most out of them.

I'll be getting the DoS intake too once the dry filter arrives.

Submitted drawings to our filter vendor and are still waiting for feedback. Getting this custom filter made has been a frustrating and time consuming
(read slow) process.

I keep trying to convince myself that it will be worth it in the end. I really hope that folks buy them after all this trouble.

Think I'll run 75/25, 0.7, no restrictor. Not sure about the gain and threshold.
What are you running?
