Just a quick question, does anyone know if replacing the Caliper bushings with the solid bushings require the removal of the actual caliper? Or can it be done with the the pads and calipers all still assembled on the rotor?
The caliper has to be removed.
This mod is usually done when doing pad replacement, SS brake hose installation.
Vollgas is correct you need to take the caliper off the rotor, but that is all you NEED to do. Once the caliper is off the rotor you can pull the rubber bushing off and put the brass bushings in.
Pad replacement and SS lines are not required (good idea but not required).
Yea I was thinking about going wwith the solid bushings just because I heard they are a very nice addition to the braking system. Can anyone personally comment?

I installed the solid bushings several years ago. Already had done the SS brake lines and ATEblue fluid about a year earlier. It was very easy install and you'll notice a big improvement in initial bite.
On the down side you MUST clean and re-lube the slider pins at least once per year or you'll get binding. This is really not a big job as the slider pins can be removed, cleaned & re-lubed without removing the caliper. Just have to remove the wheel for easier access.
