$5k on a good day.

Both of those are not cheap jobs, and that car will barely sell for $7500 with the repairs.

If your MINI was in fair condition with no major mechanical problems then Kelly Blue book would be about $5700

see
http://www.kbb.com/used-cars/mini/co...mileage=126000

$7300 for excellent shape.

Given that I think a fair price would be under $5000

The other way to think of it is if you did do the repairs would you just keep the MCS and drive it another year or two?

The lowest quote ive gotten for a clutch job is 1200 in labor. a new clutch kit (from what ive gathered), is gonna be about 400-1800 dollars. an AC compressor will cost around 950 dollars, plus the engine needs to be jacked up to get to it (i think...) so your looking at some costly repairs. chances are that it's gonna need new motor mounts and control arm bushings as well, with that mileage. its a clean car, but unfortunatley, its just got so many miles. As a comparison, i bought my car in june for 10k when it had 68k on the clock, this was 3 grand under kbb. and the guy wasn't even serious about selling it. Good luck though, you might luck out and find someone who wants to make a race mini or something, and doesn't care if its worn out as they'll be replacing it all anyways.
good luck though,
Austin

I purchased mine for 9.5K a few months ago with 70K on the clock.
I would get the clutch repaired and then sell. They are still a novelty car & a lot of people would like to own one.

Selling a non-running car is going to be next to impossible. I agree with the previous poster fix it & sell it or fix it & drive it.

I think the engine has to come out for the clutch job. Might as well do the AC at the same time. You might be able to find a used compressor.

Ah the oh so common what's my car worth, it's on every single car forum ever.

My answer is always the same.

It all depends on YOUR region. What sells for 5k in texas will likely sell for 7k in the Seattle area.

In this area you'd be VERY hard pressed to find ANY mini for <$7k with a clean title. Mileage or year doesn't matter.

Search YOUR area for Mini's, then you'll have a much better idea what it's worth broke or fixed. I'd completely ignore what people here tell you it's worth, unless they're from your area.

Good luck either way.

So true. Bring that car a couple hundred miles north of Seattle into Vancouver, Canada and it'll be worth almost double. If you look at Craigslist in Vancouver, an 03 MCS goes for between $10,800 and $14,000.
