2002 jcw hp help

I just bought a 2002 jcw mini cooper for 7000 the guy said it has 210hp . I was wondering what the difference is between a jcw and a s other than looks also I wanna make between 250 - 300hp I don't really wanna get into the block. What are the best mods to get me to my goal, I'm also gonna run cryo. Do they make a fmic for jcw? What's the best tuner I seen one that plugs into the obd... I'm gonna run a meth kit as well and 60 shot nos. I want the car to also be reliable its gonna be my daily driver.would port and polish the supercharget help? I'm not a newbie to building cars just new to the mini coop scene and want expert advice I have searched for hours for info and havnt found what I'm looking for thank you any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hate saying this. But you need to spend some time in this forum and using the Search function for answers.

Grab a cup of coffee or a can of soda and search till your eyes hurt .

Enjoy your new Mini.

Tough to answer all this and honestly, you won't get a clear answer from many people on the forums either. Your best bet is to talk to a tuner via phone or e-mail. I suggest Way from WayMotorWorks, he knows his stuff - owns his own bmw/mini shop in alabama. Also, Jan of RevolutionMiniWerks - he is renowned for his tuning capabilities as well as his headwork.
Helix and Detroit Tuned are also other viable tuners I believe.

However, the difference between the JCW and the "S" is the JCW is the MINI tuned S. The JCW, in short, has a ported head (exhaust side), cold-air-intake, sport exhaust, 380cc injectors, and an ecu tuned to 210bhp. You really could have found this out by doing a 30 second search on google...

I have no idea why you would prefer a meth-kit and nos versus doing headwork on a daily...

And yes, there are fmic for the MINI.

If you were to take your JCW as is and put a cam in it and get a custom tune, you would honestly be close to 230-240 bhp, give or take.

Like living in Iowa , being in Maine is a disavantage, as there are no tuners around here and I'm guessing up there too, to help with high end builds and the problems that arise. Over the phone help can only go so far.

I would suggest you look at reasonable modifications.
I would start with a BVH (Big Valve Head) or a very good ported head,
performance cam, 17% pulley, and some larger injectors.
These mods should take you to the 285hp range.
They are proven mods.
Then go from there.

I don't think your looking in the proper direction. As others have said, doing some research on these cars will help you in the long run. Tuning a Mini is much different than a Honda or VW. As for a tuning chip, on the Mini, these have proven to not do much and cause headaches. What you need is a custom tune, done either on a dyno or via a tuning box where you can upload custom tunes.

I don't believe that porting the supercharger has yielded much power, but reducing the size of the pulley has. Your car already has a reduced pulley compared to a regular S model, the next common sizes being 15-17% reduction.

To get to the power levels that you want, you'll need a big valve head and a cam and a header as well as the tune.

Good luck, do your homework and talk to trusted Mini tuners

Shame about the octane levels up there. I can find 93 where I live no problem - and it's all I'll need for my planned mods.

Like someone said, custom tunes are the best. However, you actually have to be present for that and Maine is quite far away from most the known tuners...You can always do a remote tune/flash from either Way or Jan though.

I'm comming from a built neon srt4. So I know a bit about cars I'm not a kid throwing pvc intakes on civics lol what size pulley is on my car now. The following mods I plan on doing is a 17 or 19 pulley, fmic off my buddys srt4 I'm gonnna do custom piping, bigger injectors and a tune I'm hoping there's a plug and play programmer for our cars. And a custom exhaust, or is a aftermarket one worth getting? I would be happy with 240 250hp with the car. Do these mods sound respectable for what I want, I want reliable to is there any runner that plugs I.to the obd. Can the stock clutch handle all this?

I just wanted to say also I'm really happy to be part of the mini community. I also wanted to add with the exhaust idea I have in my head I wanted to have no cat and basically straigt pipe to a straight threw muffler I wasn't sure if running no cat would be bad for my car. And I am gonna add a cam to my list of mods I was also wondering if I'm missing any bolt ons. I was also wondering if there was a company that has all the mods I want and what company is the cheapest and best to deal with i would really like my car to run low 12s on street tires. im sorry for all the questions and i do know how to search i just dont have a computer and im using my phone it would tke days to research all this and i wanna get started on my build asap please no negative replies im really happy i finally found a works mini and really excited for the build. i just cant wait to go to the track and surprise the hell outta them and make them scared of tue minis!!

Honestly, the best bolt-ons are ones you either already have or mentioned. You already have a CAI, you mentioned pulley, exhaust, and cam...
I guess you could get larger injectors and a new tune of course.
You'll probably need colder plugs to handle all the new power.

And yeah, I've heard of people running 250hp with stock clutch no problems. Probably wouldn't go any higher though.

The exhaust(s) known to make the most power are the Miltek(stratmosphere) and the SupersSprint. Also, some people swear by Jan's RMW header.
Again, you really should be asking professional tuners about this stuff, not just any yahoo(like myself) who decides to answer your thread.
