losing boost again

i did a search on losing boost but didnt see anything that fit my problem. but right now when i drive the car hard i am losing boost when going into 3rd gear. 1st and 2nd gears are fine but the second i shift into 3rd my bost is gone BUT as fast as i can lift off the throttle and back on it the boost comes back and the car pulls hard again. im thinking if i had some kind of leak this wouldnt be the case, maybe im wrong. but has anyone else experienced this and know what might be causing it? BTW the only things i have changed are a CAI and alta inlet tube.

What are the boost pressures you're seeing?

I think it's a leak. By modulating the power you are kind of temporarily "fooling" the car. Go in and tighten up all the hoses and I bet it goes away.

Also check that there is not a leak in your Alta tube. I've heard they can have problems.

i had the same problem after i installed alta inter-cooler and boost tubes... it almost like the car is going into lag mode.. so all you need to do is find the boost leak and that should solve your problem

Check at the ends making sure the connections are pretty snug. Don't overtighten the screw-clamp bands or else the edges of the clamp will start to dig into the silicone.

Check the tubing itself too. Some alta tubes are known to scrape against the engine bay/bolts/screws/nuts etc and can rip through the silicone plys.
Also, on the inlet tube, right where it connects to the turbo, the tubes are designed a bit short, so make sure the lip is covered properly and the clamp has enough grip on the turbo inlet itself.
