I took my horns to my powdercoater and as far as I know they didn't bead blast them, though they did do some prep. I could be wrong about the blasting though. The results were fantastic.

You can see the slight textures still.

This is what happens when you don't powdercoat them. I bought this from a member who said he had primed and painted them it lasted maybe 6 months..the expense to remove and install them outweighed any initial cost benefit versus powdercoating them.

Did the intake horns need a lot of prep work before powdercoating? They have a pretty pronounced texture to them, and so I didn't know if you had to grind/smooth them down so the texture is sanded smooth, before you could powdercoat them... How much (if any) labor is involved with that?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Nice, umm, art collection.
I was back in Nebraska from Christmas to the 1st and the car still isn't ready. I got an email from him :

Sorry I havent been in contact with you recently. Been really busy
with school and work. I am really planning on the car being done
before the time you arrive. I have the motor in and am just finishing
up re-connecting everything. I will let you know if i can find a
date that will work for you to tune.
Thanks Anthony

Hey everyone
I am still alive
, and unfortunately the car is not done....yet. I have finally been going back out to the garage and working on it since I passed my written exam for my pilot's license. Working on the car was a good distraction from actually studying for school/flying so I had to just stop for a little while.
I havent taken many pictures lately, modular front end is still off. I was putting my intake and s/c horns on last night, and just really hated how different my valve cover turned out and the difference in shades of red. So thats coming back off, striping the paint tonight and figuring out another option.
Dont worry tho, it will be done before it gets "really" nice out. lol
here is my only picture from last night:

picture is deceiving. just doesnt have anything on the powder coated intake.
